Great Brewery Tour! - I more than enjoyed my time at Caribbean Brewing Company with our wonderful host, Sunil. We came to learn more about how the company started and what led to the tasty craft beer we were drinking. After many beers (they are, by the way, unlimited), we went down to the tank to get a closer look at all the equipment and had the opportunity to drink directly from the source, all while learning more about the process of making beer. Would recommend this tour to all beer lovers.

The best beer and stories! - Amazing experience. This was our second time. Love the beer and love the stories. Dimitri is awesome. This is definitely an experience to do when you are in St Maarten!

Great beer selections! Such a fun time! Worthe money! - The brewery tour and background how the owner came to start this business was fun and interesting. The beer selections were very good and unlimited. Merchandise was reasonably priced. We went to the owners restaurant/bar after the brewery tour. Dutch Blonde Bar and Restaurant is on the boardwalk on Great Bay Beach in Phillipsburg. The view from upstairs of the beach and cruise port is beautiful! The owner, Sunil, was very friendly and kept in contact with us regarding our tour and time to meet. Please note, if you plan to take a taxi to the brewery, do not let the taxi driver confuse the distillery tour with the brewery tour. The brewery is only about a 10 minute walk from the cruise port.

Skip the cruise excursion... - We found the brewery via Google Maps. You need to have a tour booked...the brewery itself is a production facility and does not look to be available to walk-in visitors. We chose to book the tour directly thru Tripadvisor vs taking the ship tour (ship tour was a LOT more expensive, and included a beach stop which we did not want). The owner texted me day prior to set us times...he had to wait for count from the ship tours before setting our tour time. We had lunch at the owner's Dutch Blonde Beach Bar (on the waterfront), and then went out for the tour. The restaurant is a good option if you want to try the beer without taking the tour. The tour itself was interesting and entertaining. Our guide, Dimitri, gave us the background on the brewery, and walked us through the brewing process. We tasted the current production beers--highlight was sampling the Dutch Blonde Ale directly from the fermentation tank...and you get to pour your own beers!

Fun time - Highly recommend, the owner conducts the tour with his story on how he manifested the brewery. Unlimited beer that is really good. Our tour was followed by lunch at Dutch Blond Beach Bar and Restaurant

Fun excursion if you like beer & the beach! - We had a great time at the Brewery, and later at The Dutch Blonde Beach Bar. The tour comes with a story and unlimited tastings. The staff is engaging and the beer is very good!

Not Bad - Prioritizes Cruise Ship Passengers - The tour operator called me on the morning of the tour to give me the time slot for my tour. Cruise ship passengers got first preference for the early morning tour that day so my time slot was late morning which I didn't mind. I arrived 5 minutes early and nobody was there. (Side note: I would suggest they put up more signage outside the brewery). I called the tour operator and he said someone would be there soon. After about 10 minutes 2 guys came to open up. Some cruise ship passengers arrived soon after and they were taken into the brewery while I waited outside. The 2 tour guides then came outside and told me that that was because sometimes the cruise ship passengers don't like when outsiders join their tour group (I must say, I've been a cruise ship passenger myself multiple times and I've never experienced this). They eventually took me to join the group & they introduced me to the group before the tour started. The tour itself was not bad at all and the unlimited beer was a plus. It would have been nice though, not to be treated as an afterthought as I did pay for the tour like everyone else.

Weird, awkward time money wasting experience! - I would like to start this review by saying that my husband and I frequently visit breweries and winieries while on vacation. We had a certain expectation of what the tour would be like, a brief introduction to the formation of the company, tour of the facility, tasting room with a detailed explanation of the different types of beer. That's what we excepted...what occurred is this... We drove to a building with no front door. You have to climb metal steps that are kinda hanging on up to a door with a doorbell and a phone number. There is garbage, broken glass all around the perimeter. No one answered the doorbell, we called the number and a guy showed up to let us into the building in around 10 minutes. He started off by saying it was off season and we should have called ahead first The brewery was small, non operational, dark, hot. He flicked on a few lights, not many, we went through a n office filled with promotional shirts then up a hot wooden staircase to another office slash tasting room...oh boyyyy. Sunil, the owner, told me he'd tell us his "remarkable journey" to becoming a brewery owner - while we sat at a table drinking beer. He went over to the beer tap and poured us to foamy beers...ohhhh nooooo....then he went on and on and onnnn...about his many business ventures and how through connections he decided to open up a brewery. No Love of beer, brewing experience, just hey ...do you guys know how many tourists are coming here, and there's no local beer! Sunil, said sorry that the tasting room had not been cleaned up from the last tasting. I noticed that the floor was dirty, there were jars of grains on the counter. When I needed the washroom I had to go down a dark hot staircase to the washroom and back upstairs again. In all, we had four or five glasses of beer in total. The beer is good, nothing out of the ordinary. I'm guessing he REALLY PRIORITIZES cruise excursions...so perhaps if a large number of guests come over you get a more polished presentation. As for us...it was over an hour of listening to Sunil's business ramblings. If you love beer, and appreciate the craft of beer making...this tour is not for you. If you want to sit at a table, and listen to a guy brag about his businesses on the island, and drink beer...there you have it.

Advise contact before going - Took a gamble and walked 30 mins to get there as website said open until 4.00. Notice in door said ring the bell but got no response.Gave up after 20 mins of waiting. Probably my fault for not booking anything but was expecting a taproom. My advice would be to contact in advance before going to avoid any disappointment. I was a bit gutted as it was a chance of getting some decent beer as the local lagers are awful in the Caribbean. Consoled myself by finding a bar in the port selling SXM IPA. Hope you have better luck than me as I was really disappointed after looking forward to going.
