Good time! Here are some tips... - Overall, a good time! Our driver Ricardo and tour guide Esteban were great through the entire trip. I felt it was worth the money as we packed in a lot during the tour. Here are some tips if you choose this excursion: - bring water, my wife and I had two bottles and ran through them pretty quick during the hike - wear closed toe shoes/hiking shoes, hike is about 45-60 minutes with plenty of uneven surfaces. - bring insect repellent - bring a change of clothes, you'll get wet at the end of the hike (if you choose to swim near the waterfall) along with more wetness at the hot springs. Dry clothes for the return trip is nice to have. - if you do swim, recommend wearing water shoes, the bottom can be sharp and slippery with rocks. - the waterfall swim area is not deep, I'd say 5 feet at most and very calm. Little kids that were on the tour with other families were swimming with their floaties on. Note: Be prepared for 2 hours of driving to starting point and 2 hours back of ups and downs and stop and go on the bus ride. Can surely make folks feel nauseous/car sick. Do it!

Esteban & Manuel are the best! - Our tour guide, Esteban, was very informative & made the experience fun! He helped us get to know Guanacaste better, by telling us some fun facts. He was very patient, fun, and extremely kind. The driver, Manuel, got us where we had to be safely and was very kind as well. We couldn’t have asked for a better tour guide and driver. They made us feel safe our entire trip. Thank you, guys! Yall are amazing and you guys made our experience exceptional and the reason we’d book with this company again. Many, many thanks from your dear friends in Dallas, Texas!

Blue river combo tour - The very long drive was worth it. Our guide, Fernando, was very knowledgeable about wildlife and plants in the area. He found us a sloth to observe from a distance. He also provided tips on hummingbird sightings & I saw two in the wild. Swimming in the waterfall pool after walking through the rainforest was amazing. The hot springs were also awesome. Thanks to Fernando and our intrepid driver.

Wonderful Time - Steve and Marvin made this excursion better than I could have ever imagined. Steve was a wonderful tour guide, pointed out interesting things on the way to the destinations, and kept the spirits very positive on the bus (especially during the long stretches of driving when people were getting antsy). Marvin was an EXCELLENT driver and he clearly is a master at what he does. Not only was he able to maneuver the GIANT bus to avoid as many bumps in the road as possible, he even was able to point out wildlife that were in the trees along the road and give us time to take some photos. There was a bit of confusion with the expected length of time for the excursion; the Nexus employees who we booked the excursion with told us the drive would be 1.5 hours each way but in reality it was closer to 3 hours each way. I'm not sure why we were told less time but Steve clarified the schedule and times of the excursion multiple times throughout the trip. The excursion itself was beautiful. The hike to the waterfall was so whimsical and fun with all the dinosaurs! The views along the trail were incredible and the pictures we took almost seemed photoshopped with how colorful and bright everything was. The waterfall was equally as incredible as the forest. The water was crystal clear and so refreshing and the sounds of the fall mixed with the sounds of nature was the most peaceful thing to experience. All in all my husband and I would book this excursion again and if we can request specific drivers and tour guides then we will make sure to see Steve and Marvin again!
