Great place to visit - This was a great way to spend a few hours. Only accessible by foot at low tide, so took the ferry on the way out and walked back. Lots on the site to look at and explore. Lengthy reenactment on the parade ground which finished with a cannon firing. Well priced cafe.

Interesting place to visit, fabulous views - Visited with family, went on the amphibious bus which although the tide was out was a great experience. The castle was well maintained, facilities clean and staff pleasant. The views were spectacular and the grounds lovely to explore. A very enjoyable visit.

Interesting castle. - There is a waterbus to take you across to the castle if you wish, even if the tide is out, which it was on our visit so we chose to walk, it was little slippery in places so take care. Quite a lot to explore here some interesting displays within the buildings, good views from the top and a very interesting tale attached to the hermitage. Had refreshments at the cafe before we left, choice was limited but very nice.

So much more than a castle! - So much more than just a castle! There's so many pieces of history from 6th century up to now just waiting to get discovered. We were lucky to have the tide on our side and walked to and from the castle. Check the website prior to the visit as the walk really helps build up the sense of adventure. We loved the explorative feel to Fort Charles and how it the culminates with more information about Elizabeth Castle and the whole island further up. It allows you to imagine what life was like and truly engage with each space and then, on your return to the entrance, continue to piece together the different ages and stages of each landmark. Staff were friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed the hermitage, as well as looking at the rock names given in the German gun emplacement.

Interactive at it's best! - We have previously met the master gunner and really enjoyed the experience but King Charles II takes interactive experiences to another level! Fun and informative, we loved every moment, thank you. Thanks also to the team 'behind the scenes' lots of work going on to make this a great place to visit

A little expensive though - It's a real expense if we don't stay a week because we don't have time to come back to the sites However the fact that the rides are included is a plus although I also recommend taking the family pass for the bus.

Buy annual membership instead! - Only one star given because of the pricing structure! Don’t get the 4 for 3 pass! Cost up the annual membership instead - certainly for a family of four it is significantly cheaper, and you will make your money back even if you only visit Elizabeth Castle and Mont Orgueil. Allows you to visit all Jersey Heritage attractions, not just 4 (bear in mind that the Jersey museum in St Helier is free anyway…), unlimited revisits during your stay should you wish, and 10% off in the cafes. There is no reason to purchase the 4 for 3 pass and Jersey Heritage should not be selling / promoting these. Fortunately we did our research before arriving on the Island and so knew what to ask for, but the price of the annual pass is not promoted at the entrance to attractions so people think they are getting better value from the 4 for 3. It is simply not so. You can purchase annual membership at the entrance to an attraction. No proof of address or photo ID is required and you are not asked to sign up to a recurring direct debit or similar so it’s a one-off cost.
