“A Remarkable Adventure with Major Adventures in Lesotho” - I extend my heartfelt gratitude to Major Adventures for an unforgettable journey—one that I hadn’t even dared to imagine conquering. Heights have always been my Achilles’ heel, yet that fear has now been defeated, thanks to the incredible tour guide, Elois. Elois’s reassuring presence put all my apprehensions at ease.
The history of Lesotho unfolded before us, captivating and intriguing. Did you know that their distinctive hats are shaped like mountains? As we explored, the taste of freshly baked bread lingered on our tongues—a delightful treat for the senses.
While photos and videos can capture moments, there’s nothing quite like experiencing the journey firsthand. The thrill of being there, surrounded by the rugged beauty of Lesotho, is an absolute must. And let’s not forget the amazing group of fellow travellers who made this adventure even more memorable.
In the end, the shared laughter, the awe-inspiring landscapes, and the camaraderie that etch these memories into our hearts. Major Adventures, you’ve left an indelible mark on my soul. Until our next escapade!" 🌄📸🌟

One of my bucket list experiences, to have a drink in the highest Pub in Africa, blessed to live in Africa. - Sonya Caldecott organized my trip with Major Adventures for me as it was my birthday, a cake was provided and that was very special to me. Thank you my friend. Our guide Alan was amazing with the knowledge he shared, a very careful driver and took care of going through the borders with no fuss. Gorgeous views, met strangers and we soon became friends, memories to treasure forever.

Sani Pass to Lesotho - a world class day trip - Major Adventures provided one of the highlights of a recent round the world cruise, with 29 ports where I and friends (up to 46 of us) did tours with local operators. In each port I read scores of reviews, to find the best tour operator, and Major Adventures is the one in Durban if you have time to do their day tour to Sani Pass and Lesotho. Because of the distance and timing, we overnighted after the tour in Durban, and rejoined the ship in Cape Town.
We were five friends, one in a wheelchair, which was not a problem at any stage. Donna was our superb organizer, and Elliot was our remarkable guide. Donna expertly organized our transfer from the ship to Underberg and back to Durban ... Hemendra was our driver, and he too was excellent. I am fortunate to have visited 89 countries, and this day trip to Sani Pass is world class. The dirt track up the pass, the views, the fascinating country of Lesotho, the commentary from Elliot, who has 19 years in his role ... all excellent. Especially memorable was our visit with a gracious host in her rondavel ... the delicious, hot bread she served ... a score of shepherds singing/chanting to us just outside ... lunch and libations at the Highest Pub in Africa. Wow, what a day.

BoyYoungYoung - During a group trip led by Gert, we used two 4x4 vehicles from Major Adventures in Underberg. Our driver (TsjongeJongeJonge) -(sorry no name) was very knowledgeable about every boulder on the route, a good storyteller and photographer and good at preserving nature. A great experience with a "Springbokkie" in the highest Pub of Africa

Excellent trip up Sani Pass - My family (6 adults) booked the Sani day trip and our expectations were exceeded in every way.
Gardi was very accommodating and the process was seamless.
Our guide, Elias, however, was truly the star of the show. His knowledge of the flora, fauna, history, and geography is faultless - he certainly brought Sani Pass to life for all of us. Additionally, he is a remarkable driver - we felt completely safe in his capable hands.

Amazing! - An absolutely amazing experience with the most beautiful views. Our Guide Mr Elias deserves a special mention as he truly made the tour extra special, explaining the history of the pass, the types of wildlife, native plants and the names of each bend on the pass, you can see that this guy loves this place and his job. I observed other tours along the way, however it was not even close to the experience provided by Elias and Major Adventures.

A day made to remember - A day made to remember
Pulling up the unassuming front door of Major Adventures in Underberg gave no indication of what an amazing day we were about to experience. Warmly greeted and welcomed inside out of the cold morning air. We chatted for a while and decided to join a day trip up the Sani Pass with Ellias as our guide.
With a warm smile that reassured the 3 passengers that we were in the best possible hands our guide welcomed us and we set off.
Ellias is not only a wealth of information but the passion and his love for his country, its history and the people of Lesotho shone through making the day trip a lifetime memory. His knowledge of the local fauna and flora and the Drakensberg as a whole, was absolutely captivating. We pulled up numerous times to see Eland on a distant hill, an ice rat peaking out of a hole, the southern bald ibis, African rock pipit, grey winged francolin and cape rock thrush to name just a few – He also took us into a Basotho homestead where we were welcomed and served traditional bread and we taught a bit of the colourful history of Lesotho - all of which we would have missed out on if we were not in the capable hands of our guide Elias.
So, if you are just interested in getting to the highest pub in Africa – then chose any of the Sani Pass operators or do a self-drive or tag along but if you want to hear the history and feel it through Elias’s stories then there is only one company to take you safely to the top and that is Major Adventures.
Thank you to all the welcoming staff of Major Adventures for this wonderful experience. Nick and Karen Sunshine Coast Australia
