DAY 1 ~ ULAANBAATAR

The adventure in Mongolia kicks off upon arrival in the capital city, Ulaanbaatar, commonly known as UB. Here, the Mongolian guide welcomes the group and escorts them to the Tuushin Hotel, where they will stay for the next two nights. Eddie Frank has already traveled west to prepare the camp for the group’s arrival in a few days.
Ulaanbaatar is a vibrant blend of the old and the new. Once settled in the hotel, guests have the freedom to relax or explore the city independently or with fellow travelers, discovering the many attractions the capital has to offer.
DAY 2 ~ ULAANBAATAR
Ulaanbaatar - Today is dedicated to discovering UB. The Mongolian guide introduces the group to the city’s diverse attractions, including a variety of restaurants, street food vendors, museums, and shops renowned for local cashmere clothing.
In the evening, before dinner, the guide accompanies the group to the national theater for a mesmerizing cultural performance, showcasing vibrant costumes and captivating music rooted in ancient Mongolian traditions.
DAY 3 ~ FLY TO BAYAN ULGII
Bayan-Olgii Province - 3-hour flight • 5,610 ft / 1,710 m
A 3-hour flight westward brings the group to the town of Bayan Ulgii.
Upon arrival, they settle into their Ger Camp, which mirrors a traditional nomadic camp, and then explore Ulgii’s bustling outdoor market. The group will seek out a local Kazakh eagle hunter for a close encounter with his majestic bird of prey.
At the day’s end, all gear and clothing are transferred into waterproof Tusker duffels, which are more convenient for packing onto camels for the expedition.
Mongolia - A brief drive takes the group to the nearby Ulgii airport for their flight to Ulaanbaatar.
