To Murchison Falls National Park
Murchison Falls National Park - Our professional guide will greet you and provide a briefing about the trip before we set off for Uganda’s most stunning protected area: Murchison Falls National Park. Located approximately 300 kilometers north of Kampala, the journey passes through the renowned Luwero triangle, includes a stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, and a lunch break at Kabalega diners. We then proceed to enter the park via the Kichombanyobo gate and visit the spectacular falls, where you’ll be amazed by the mighty Nile as it is forced into a seven-meter crevice, thundering 45 meters below in a series of cascades visible from various viewpoints. Dinner and overnight stay.
Game Drive and Boat Cruise in Murchison Falls
Murchison Falls National Park - After an early breakfast, we head to the ferry to cross the Nile to the park’s northern sector and begin our game drive towards the Delta area. Here, we search for wildlife such as the Rothschild Giraffe, elephants, Jackson’s Hartebeest, lions, warthogs, kobs, jackals, oribis, waterbucks, patas monkeys, and leopards, among others. A variety of savannah woodland birds can also be spotted. We return to the lodge to relax and have lunch. Later in the afternoon, at 2:00 pm, we embark on a boat cruise on the Nile for close-up game viewing as animals come to cool off on the riverbanks. You’ll have the chance to see numerous hippos, crocodiles, buffaloes, elephants, and various water birds. After about three hours, we return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
To Kibale National Park
Kibale National Park - We begin our drive to western Uganda, passing through beautiful green landscapes and tea plantations. You’ll have the opportunity to interact with locals during a market walk after lunch. Following lunch, we drive for an hour to Kibale Forest, where you may spot monkeys, birds, and baboons along the way and during stopovers. Accommodation will be at one of the suggested lodges based on your budget.
Chimpanzee Tracking
Kibale National Park - After breakfast, we head to the Park Offices for registration and a briefing before starting our trek in one of East Africa’s oldest forests, with trees reaching up to 50 meters high. The trek, which may take about three hours, is in search of habituated chimpanzees. The forest is also home to five other primate species, including the Black and White Colobus, Red Colobus, Red-tailed, L’Hoest’s Monkeys, and Grey-cheeked Mangabey, as well as a variety of bird species, including the rare Green-breasted Pitta. We return to the lodge to relax, have lunch, and later go for a rewarding nature walk in the Bigodi Wetland. We return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park
Queen Elizabeth National Park - After breakfast, we transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park, driving through the Crater Lakes region and southwards along the foothills of the Rwenzori Mountain Ranges, which form the western Rift Valley and the boundary between Uganda and Congo. We have an en-route lunch at Kasese before entering the park with a mini-game drive, arriving in the afternoon. We check into the bush lodge, enjoy a free afternoon, and have dinner and an overnight stay.
