Kibale National Park - Begin your journey to western Uganda, passing through lush green landscapes and tea plantations. You’ll have the opportunity to engage with local residents during a market walk after lunch. Following lunch, enjoy a one-hour drive to Kibale Forest, where you can spot monkeys, birds, and baboons along the way and during stop-overs. Accommodations for the night will be based on your budget from the options provided.
Chimpanzee Trekking
Kibale National Park - After breakfast at the lodge, prepare for a chimpanzee walk in Kibale Forest National Park, home to around 13 primate species. During your visit, you’ll see various monkeys, including the striking Red Colobus, Grey-cheeked Mangabey, Black-and-white Colobus, L’Hoest’s Monkey, and the fascinating chimpanzees. Spend an hour observing these primates, with the entire trek lasting 3-4 hours through the tropical rainforest with an experienced guide. After lunch, visit Bigodi Swamp for a walk to spot more monkeys and bird species. This walk takes you through grasslands and small communities, where locals are eager to greet visitors, and through coffee plantations and gardens to observe daily life.
Kibale to Queen Elizabeth National Park
Queen Elizabeth National Park - After breakfast, drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park, passing through the crater lakes region of Kabarole. Enjoy a mini-game drive as you enter the park and check into Park View Safari Lodge. After lunch and some relaxation, embark on a boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel at 3:00 pm to view wildlife up close as they cool off along the shores. Return to the lodge in the evening for dinner and overnight stay.
Queen Elizabeth to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Bwindi Impenetrable National Park - Start the day early with a 6:30 am game drive in the Kasenyi Plains, searching for wildlife such as buffalo, kobs, warthogs, elephants, waterbucks, lions, hyenas, and possibly leopards. After a 2-3 hour game drive, return to the lodge for breakfast, check out, and drive to Bwindi through the Ishasha sector, where you might see tree-climbing lions. Enjoy a packed lunch en route and later check into Buhoma Community Rest Camp.
Gorilla Tracking
Bwindi Impenetrable National Park - After breakfast, head to the visitors’ center at 7:45 am for registration and briefing before starting the gorilla trek. The trek can be challenging, involving steep hills and muddy conditions, and may take 2-8 hours. Once you find the gorillas, you’ll spend one hour with them, guided on how to behave around these magnificent creatures. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Bwindi to Lake Mburo National Park
Lake Mburo National Park - After breakfast, check out and drive to Lake Mburo National Park, passing through the rolling hills of Kabale and Mbarara. Enjoy lunch en route, arriving in the afternoon to check into Eagles’ Nest. Later, at around 4:00 pm, take a boat cruise on the lake for about an hour and a half. Return to the camp for dinner and overnight stay.
Lake Mburo to Airport or Kampala
Entebbe - Start the day early with a morning nature walk to spot wildlife such as buffalo, zebras, warthogs, impalas, eland (Africa’s largest antelope), topis, bushbucks, reedbucks, waterbucks, oribis, bush pigs, and possibly leopards. The walk typically lasts about two hours, depending on your interest and pace. Return to the lodge for breakfast, then transfer back to Kampala with lunch en route, arriving in the afternoon. Check into your accommodation for dinner and overnight stay, or proceed directly to the airport for your flight home, depending on your schedule.
