- Udawalawe National Park - The Udawalawe National Park is a wildlife reserve covering nearly 120 square miles of land with a number of geological formations. Established on the 30th of June 1972, the park lies on the boundary of the Sabaragamuwa and Uva Provinces of Sri Lanka. As such, it majorly consists of plains, grasslands, forests and marshes - while being bounded by soaring mountains along the northern border. A major river, the Walawe and a many of its tributaries run pass through the park, providing ample water for the wildlife. The annual rainfall in the Udawalawe National Park is around 1500 millimeters, and the average temperature stays at a comfortable 27° - 28° Centigrade (81°-82°F). The park has over 94 species of plants, 21 species of fish, 12 species of amphibians, over 30 species of reptiles, over 180 species of birds (33 of which are migratory), 43 species of mammals and 135 species of butterflies.

Amazing safari experience. - Terrific tour. We saw so many elephants as well as deer, birds, reptiles and buffalo. Our driver was amazing at pointing out wildlife and was adept at manoeuvering the vehicle.

The best Sri Lankan safari and responsible - The best safari we did in Sri Lanka and we did 3. The driver / guide a super professional who respected the distances with the animals and his passion was noticed since after more than 10 years working still took pictures of the animals and stopped to explain everything.

Great tour! - Really good tour. The guide/driver was really nice and experienced.
We saw pretty much every animal you can see there (exept leopards, they are hard to spot)

A wonderful afternoon - We had a wonderful safari seeing many many beautiful birds as well as elephants, crocodiles, water buffalo, deer and wild pigs. Our driver Darmasiri was very friendly and knowledgeable and did a great job to make sure our trip was great. He arrived on time and ensured we saw the sunset over the lake too. One of our best times in Sri Lanka

Enjoyable, relaxing evening in Udawalawa - Was a fabulous evening safari, after doing 2 morning safari’s in Yala National Park the pace at Udawalawa is much more relaxed and drivers have a lot more respect for the Animals
Only saw around another 30 trucks, Yala was probably around 300, saw Elephants, Kingfishers, crocs, Crested Eagles and much more

Great experience - We had a great experience! Our driver Darmasiri was fantastic and very knowledgable. We saw such a range of animals, alongside many many elephants. There was also a smooth pick up and drop off back at our hotel. Couldn’t recommend enough.

Recommended tour - It was exciting to drive around the park in a jeep and see so many animals in the wild. Our guide was very good. He showed us so many animals we probably wouldn't have seen without his eye.

Great driver & amazing, memorable day! - Our driver, Asanka, was super knowledgeable and shared such interesting info about the wildlife, park and his experience while showing us the huge variety of animals - it was such a great experience from start to finish!
