Udawalawe National Park is a national park on the boundary of Sabaragamuwa and Uva Provinces in Sri Lanka. The park was created to provide a sanctuary for wild animals displaced by the construction of the Udawalawe Reservoir on the Walawe River, as well as to protect the catchment of the reservoir.

Best safari ever - Was totally amazing saw a lot of stuff. Many elephant, deers and birds, and monkey. The guide explained a lot about the animals and was super friendly

Highly Recommend - Very good Safari. Saw a lot of elephants, mongoose, eagles and deers. The guide is very observant and he stopped for us when we needed to take photos.

Incredible experience, highly recommend - Our experience was incredible - we couldn’t have asked for a better day. Gimhana was an excellent guide and could spot camouflaged lizards on trees 10 metres away. We were very fortunate to see a herd of elephants with a 6 month old calf within half an hour of our tour. We explored some of the more remote areas of the park and got to see more elephants, crocodiles, eagles and even a baby tortoise . Very happy with our experience and highly recommend. Gimhana even packed a light breakfast for us for our morning safari which was a nice touch.

Great Jeep Safari for families - We had a great family Jeep safari with Gimhana from Udawalawe Wild Safari Tours. He was very knowledgeable about the National Park and the wildlife with many facts. His tour was excellent and used lots of jungle tracks which the kids loved and kept us away from the other tours. We spotted Elephants including babies, Monkeys, Crocodiles, Water Buffalo, Mongoose, Tortoise and birds such as Eagles, Bee Eaters, Toucan, Kingfishers and many more. Gimhana also helped arranged our taxi from Dickwella which made the whole experience worthwhile and highly recommended.

Elephants for daysss - Gimhana was a very good guide. He helped me arrange transportation from Mirissa to do the safari then on to Ella. He was knowledgeable and the entire trip with him was very informative. We saw a lot of animals besides of course loads of elephants. Thanks for a wonderful tour

Beautiful safari with fantastic guide - Fantastic safari with very nice and knowledgeable guide:) Gimhana really sees everything and has told us so much about the animals in Udawalawe. We have seen elephants, crocodiles, buffalo, monkeys, peacocks, deer and lots of beautiful birds. Highly recommended!!

Beautiful Safari - Beautiful experience, we did the Safari in the morning at 6, they picked us up directly from our hotel. The Safari tour was very nice we saw many animals and our guide explained everything in detail and managed to make us see even the most hidden animals always with respect for nature.

Great time with family - We had a great time with the family: the day starts very early so we can observe the animals when it is still cool, our guide showed us the best places to observe as many annomals as possible, the children loved to observe them like this walking in true freedom, he also explained to us all the different behaviors of animals in short I highly recommend.

Once in a lifetime experience - We did the evening safari and it was absolutely great!! Our guide and driver Gimhana was so lovely and friendly. He showed us the best spots so we could see a lot of different animals. We didn’t go with the caravan because he knew hidden and secret places so we also saw those animals which are normally afraid of cars and which are more likely to flee into the woods. Gimhana has an impressive knowledge, especially about birds, that he shared with us. We would 100% recommend this trip, it was worth the money!

Fun safari! - Nice safari to do in sri lanka we have seen elephants, crocodiles, peacocks, lizards and different kinds of birds.
Our guide koshala was extremely enthusiastic and knew a lot about the different animals.
