Great tour guide and experience - Our guide was very knowledgeable and gave us tips on how to avoid the crowded areas and lines in the local tourist attractions. He showed us some great fabric and tailoring shops that offered reasonable prices and great quality fabrics and workmanship. He also took us to an outstanding local arts and craft outlet - great prices and quality made by 48 local families.

Udaipur Tour not as advertised. We do not recommend - While Kunal, our guide, was knowledgeable and attentive, unfortunately, this tour did not meet our expectations or match what was advertised. We believe the issues stemmed from miscommunication between the tour company and the guide, as Kunal himself seemed surprised when we showed him the Viator itinerary we had booked. Several activities listed in the tour description — including Ahar Cenotaphs, Manshapurn Karni Mata Ropeway, and Fateh Sagar Lake — were not included in our experience. When we raised this with Kunal, he advised that it was too hot to visit the ropeway and it should have been done earlier in the morning or evening. While we appreciate his concern for our comfort, this was not communicated to us in advance, and we would have appreciated being given the choice given to was paid and listed in the itinerary clearly. Additionally, while we understood through our own research that the Ahar Cenotaphs were temporarily closed, the offer to simply drive past them felt reluctant, and again, it wasn’t a choice comfortably presented to us despite having paid for the experience. Another major concern was being taken to a textiles and paintings shop, despite repeatedly declining. Although we did end up purchasing a piece, it left us feeling uncomfortable and pressured — particularly because visiting such shops was never disclosed in the tour description. As a result, we lost valuable time and missed the attractions we truly wanted to visit. We note that we had a firm request to return to our hotel by 5 PM for a pre-booked sunset cruise and had informed the company that we wished to skip the Crystal Gallery, car collection, and tea/spice market to prioritise the other key sites. Even then, with a 9.15am start and the tour being advertised as “customisable,” we felt our preferences were not properly communicated or respected as the major cable car experience was missed. It is disappointing to leave a negative review, especially as Udaipur itself is absolutely beautiful and a must-visit. However, based on our experience, we cannot recommend this specific tour or company to others. We strongly encourage the tour company to review and update their tour descriptions to ensure future travelers are properly informed and avoid the disappointment we experienced.
