Great Introduction to Balinese Hindu Temples - Our first introduction to Balinese Hindu culture was nothing short of breathtaking. We enjoyed exploring Pura Taman Ayun, Bali’s second largest temple, with its serene gardens and towering shrines, before visiting the iconic Tanah Lot temple perched on a rocky outcrop of black volcanic stone. So grateful our guide Iman encouraged us to wait in line to receive an holy water blessing and provided us some local money to offer. It was such a moving experience—holy water sprinkled on our heads, rice pressed to our foreheads, and a flower tucked behind our right ears. A beautiful reminder of gratitude, connection, and respect. We ended the tour with a spicy snack that Iman wanted us to try.

Pure class - My partner and I absolutely loved our half day trip with our guide Widi. He was very friendly, took us to other places additional to the trip, and did a great job showing us the temples and explaining the history and culture. Ask for Widi when you book, he's a great guy!

My half day trip with my great driver & tour guide, Wildi - I started my trip at 10.30 am and the first stop was at the historic and heritage listed Taman Ayun temple. This temple dates back to the 16th century and is surrounded by lovely stretch of gardens and moats. It is has a small art gallery and an exhibition hall which projects short documentary on the temp. It is quite a serene and peaceful place, a must do, since it is not far from Tanah Lot. Tanah lot is very picturesque with the beautiful back drop of cliffs and the ocean, you can spend a few hours (if you can find a quiet spot) there just taking in the landscape which is beautiful. It is catered for tourists, so plenty of places to eat with amazing views of the ocean and and plenty of toilets. Lucky if you can get there before the the big tourists buses come in, to enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the place. The overall trip was great and what made it great is because I had a lovely driver who was also my tour guide. Who explained the history, significance of things/traditions. Such a pleasant person. Thank you Wildi!!

Magic sunset at Tanah Lok - Had a lovely afternoon followed by a magic sunset at Tanah Lok temple. Nyoman was a careful and attentive driver who made sure everything was going well on our trip and was also flexible and happy to accommodate small changes and little delays. Highly recommended.

Avoid low tide crowd - Tanah lot temple wasn’t as impressive because of the crowd. If you’re not planning to enter the temple, I suggest to come during high tide, view could be better with the surrounding ocean waves and surely less people. Taman ayun was peaceful and had an AV room so you get to know the place’s symbol/importance. Other than that, nothing much to see really. Driver was nice, was chatty at the start, but I felt that he could have been less stiff and more patient to talk about the locations we went to. Maybe it was the gloomy weather, but I wasn’t impressed with the overall experience for the money I spent (considering I toured east&west penida the day before for almost the same price). On a positive note, glad to have tasted various tea & coffee at luwak coffee. I was also relieved that hotel dropoff is included so it saved me the trouble and extra cost going back to nusa dua after a mid tour.
