INCREDIBLE Cenote experience with a fun and knowledgeable guide! - We had such an incredible adventure without tour guide Rubén! Our tour of the beautiful cenotes was amazing. Both cenotes were completely private so we had them all to ourselves! The first was an open cenote, with some of the clearest water I have ever seen. It was a wonderful place to swim and relax, he also provided snorkeling gear so we could explore. Next we went to a cenote that is part of the underground river. While the pictures are amazing, they don’t do it justice. The incredible limestone caverns packed with stalactites are unlike anything else I have ever seen. We snorkeled through the underground tunnels, and Rubén was very focused on ensuring we were safe and comfortable. He also shared so much information about wildlife, the unique geography of the Yucatán, and Mayan culture. We finished the day with some incredible Mayan food that was hands down the best meal of the trip. THANK YOU Rubén for making our trip so memorable and fun, we will be coming back to see you every time we visit this side of Mexico!

Top notch tour guide - Ruben was amazing. He went above and beyond. The cenotes were beautiful. The privacy was top notch. And let him recommend the restaurant. He ordered for us and it was the best meal of the trip.

Some days in life are magical - There are few life experiences in travel that feel truly magical and this was one of those days. Ruben was an awesome tour guide. He runs this business and you can tell how experienced and professional he is. He was in contact with helpful information the day before, picked us up on time, and made us feel very comfortable. But he is also super fun and friendly! We had a great time taking about the history of the area and the cenotes. The cenotes he took us to were the so amazing and so private. There were only a couple other people there and most of the time we were alone. No worries about tour busses full of people at either of them. That's the kind if connections Ruben has! The first, Xunaan Ha was open with stunning colors, blue and turquoise. Ruben was very knowledgeable about the formations and pointed out all the tunnels and cervaces. He had snorker gear and let us swim around and explore with no pressure. The second cenote, Sac Actun, was even more extraordinary. It's actually an underground river. Steping down into the open area with the swim platform felt like stepping into another world. Ruben gave us underwater flashlights and expertly guided us as we snorkeled through the formations into various large caverns. There is no way to possibly describe it and pictures dont even do do it justice so you really just have see it yourself. We got to see fish a lots of bats, which are one of my favorite animals so that was so exciting. I thought I would be scared in the caves because I'm not fond of tight spaces, but Ruben is so calm and it's so clear that he knows what he is doing that I felt 100% safe. After that we went to a nearby Mayan open air restaurant and had lunch with delicious tacos and salsas with handmade tortillas. This day couldn't have been more perfect. There is a good reason Ruben and his company has 5 star reviews. If you are on the fence about booking this excursion, hop off the fence and do it. You will not regret your choice! Thank you Ruben for the magical day. We can check this one off our bucket list!

Great Excursion! - Had such a great time! Alex was a wonderful guide. He was so knowledgeable about the area and it was very easy to understand him. It was very relaxed and he let us take our time and enjoy ourselves. He took pictures and videos of my sister and I and made sure we were comfortable on our trip. The restaurant we went to at the end was delicious as well! A great end to a great excursion.

Last minute booking. Glad we did it. - Added a last minute tour to our time in Akumal. Reuben was awesome, flexed with our needs, and both Cenotes were as advertised. Private experience with 2 cenotes and great lunch at end. Will say the Sac Actun experience was something you probably don't get the opportunity to do very often on its own. Everything was top notch. Would book with Reubens company again.

Awesome experience! - This tour was excellent from start to finish. Communication with the company was easy. They are flexible with timing and will tailor the experience to what you want/can do. Alex, our tour guide, was awesome. He is very knowledgeable on the area and we learnt a lot. The open Cenote was fun. The underground Cenote was such a unique experience. Do it! You get to pick what you want for lunch out of several options. We went to Taqueria Honorio - Amazing food!

Amazing cenote experience with Rubén! - Rubén was an incredible guide he was very friendly and personable also very knowledgeable about the Cenotes - The van was new and comfortable and the drive was safe. He had a variety of drinks and snacks as well the equipment needed for the activities. The Akun underground river was an absolute highlight exceeding our expectations - Rubén goes with you leading you through the flooded cave network - he’s very mindful and takes care to go only as far as people are comfortable and at your speed. I highly suggest your push yourself to the 3rd cave and complete the loop - it felt very adventurous and I’m so glad we did the whole thing. We would reccomend this tour to anyone looking for a private - off the beaten path cenote experience.

A memorable caving experience - Really great day, I would highly recommend. We received great, personalised comms from Reuben before the tour and Alex our guide was really helpful, courteous and interesting to talk to. It felt like a very personal experience - we weren't bombarded with information - Alex tailored what he told us to what we wanted to know. He led us safely, and reassuringly into the caves, and waited patiently for us to enjoy the experience at both cenotes. He navigated the rocky, bumpy roads with care and chatted politely the entire time, answering everything we asked. Even about El Salvador. He brought snorkels, snacks, and drinks with him and took us for lunch at a fab local restaurant. When we got home, we received over 30 texts with recommendations for our onward travel into Bacalar, El Salvador and Guatemala. These were all so helpful and considerate. We really enjoyed the day and are glad we booked with the team at Local Travel Mexico. Thank you for making our first day in Mexico so memorable
