National Stud - Great place to visit! However… I booked tickets online (as Tripadvisor said, avoid queues) My online tickets downloaded to my Wallet couldn’t be read so ended up in a queue and missed first 5 mins of the tour! We were allowed in… even though tickets couldn’t be accessed.

Great day out. Highly recommend! - Great day out. Gardens were lovely, very well kept. Irish racehorse experience was great fun too. Took a tour with guide, Sarah. She was so informative, explained everything so eloquently, and kept things lighthearted and fun along the way. A credit to the stud. Got to get up close with some foals which was a treat. Great value for money. Will definitely be back!

Beautiful, enjoyable and educational way to spend a day - The stud was in a beautiful setting and was very professionally run but still warm and friendly. The entire place was pristine and calm. It was very informative about the whole horse racing history, operation, breeding and culture. The indoor experience tour was very well set up and had lots of interactive and fun things to do and see. I particularly enjoyed choosing my own racehorse and deciding on training etc before finally racing her. The guided tour of the outside and getting to meet some mares and foals was lovely and really made me appreciate the thought and care that goes into looking after and nurturing them. To add to this were 2 separate gardens: St Fiachras and the Japanese Gardens. Both were exquisite and havens of peace. The cafe was also very nice with really tasty food. The whole experience was wonderful and a credit to everyone involved in running it.

A wonderful experience - It was an incredible experience, all your staff were so lovely, the Japanese gardens were beautiful. However, getting a guided tour around the stud, seeing the stables, the racehorses, and colts was an incredible experience!!! You also allowed me to take my 2 dogs Irish Glen of Imaal terriers that was born in Ireland with me, they were so calm as we walked past the enclosures where the mares and young fouls were. You placed the ‘trust’ in me allowing the dog owner to make sure their dogs are well behaved and use their common sense, Around racehorses and fouls where the value of these animals are PRICELESS. So thank you so much for allowing me thie opportunity, I had wished my father had been alive to have visited with me. He used to travel to Scotland to take his brothers racehorse flat racing, I was only a child then as I watched them racing. So you even allowed me the opportunity again to be around racehorses 💚🇮🇪 🐎
