Amazing experience though we didn't see the lights - We went on Christmas Day. Our guide gave us the option to leave with a full refund since it was cloudy and stormy, but we stayed. Even though we didn't see the lights, spending Christmas in the forests of Norway during a polar storm was really magical, and the guides built us a fire and taught us about the science and legends of the auroras while we roasted marshmallows, ate cookies, and drank cocoa. They even dropped us off at our accommodations! Truly an experience my family and I will cherish forever.

Hans Eric was very... - Hans Eric was very knowledgeable about the area and history of northern lights. Also very clear instructions at the beginning that seeing northern lights were not promised. Even though we didn’t get to see it, the nature scenery was still very beautiful and well worth the trip out.

We were warned at the... - We were warned at the start that the forecast did not look promising and had the option to leave the bus for a full refund. We chose to stay- our guide worked hard to make it fun and enjoyable, even when there were clouds everywhere. At the second spot, he and the driver set up a fire and we had hot drinks and snacks. We were rewarded for our patience and saw the lights! Our guide took great photos, explained the science of the lights, and made the experience very enjoyable. Additionally, we were dropped off at our accommodation even though it was a bit far outside the city. The driver and guide were fantastic!!

Honest - We appreciated the honesty of the guide, she told us it was few chances to get clear sky and offered us to cancel the trip. This is what we did.

Magical experience - The experience was amazing. The guide and the driver were incredibly nice and kind. We had explanations about the Northern lights, some hot chocolate and biscuits. The guide took nice pictures of us. We had nice conversations during the tour and they dropped us home in the end. We were lucky to have an incredible show from the lights, a few hour of amazing show, nice talks and explanations. My only observation would be, if you go in winter buy good shoes because -21 is no joke.

A White Aurora Borealis Experience - The tour was very well organized from the start till the end. At the meeting point, the guide Mr Hans assigned everyone/group into their respective minibus and after a short briefing, we set off for the tour. The driver was very skilled and Mr Hans was experienced and knew the spots where Aurora activity is likely to occur. We had our first sighting by the roadside about 45 mins into our drive and there were oohhs and ahhs from everyone. We then headed to Sommaroy beach to camp out and it was really cold; -4 degrees C. A nice fire was lit and Hans served us all hot coffee and cocoa with some biscuits. While we got warmed, he kept a look out with his camera and informed us when there was activity while regaling us with his interesting stories. With our naked eye, the Aurora will appear as grey streaks that does not move; the colors are only seen on the camera. We spent a good 2 hours on the beach waiting and did catch faint auroras every now and then. When we packed up and decided to leave around 11.15pm, Lady Aurora put on her best show. We spent another good 20 minutes or so before we headed back to the city centre; the driver dropped us off at our respective hotels. It was a dream come true for all of us that night. Hats off to the team who made this possible.

Wonderful trip - Our guide in the black bus, Aneta, did a great job. She had the driver stop several times so we could see the lights at various locations. She offered to take photos and worked hard to ensure we had an overall great experience.

Professional visit - Well-organized tour with a guide who gives explanations about Tromso, its history, its environment. Unfortunately, no Northern Lights that evening. The price of exit remains high.

Didn't meet expectations - On reflection, the tour on the day we went should have been cancelled. Heavily snowing as we boarded the mini bus but off we went. In the end, we drove around for approximately 5 hours to see a small glimpse of lights that lasted no more than 5 minutes. The majority of the bus ride was in silence with little communication from guide who just said he didn't have a mic. We stood on the side of a lake after several hours in the freezing cold in a break in the snow and saw the lights for a few minutes. Guide made a small fire and handed out hot drinks and a snack. Gave a small talk about lights. Bus driver refused to allow a child and elderly man to sit in bus with their drink to warm up. Closed the door on them. Thermal suits were supposed to be available but no mention or offer of them. Left when snow started again. Noone knew what was happening, whether we were returning to Tromso or continuing and no communication from guide. Bus is very uncomfortable. The 2 positives were the guide was determined to find any lights and they dropped people off close to accommodation instead of office.
