Alshemal Northern Lights 110% Worth It! - The Northern Lights with Alshemal Norway was amazing from start to finish! Our tour guide was great at communicating in the preparation for the tour. He set expectations for what we could experience due to weather this last week (17 - 21 November 2025). Pick up was incredibly efficient & easy to coordinate with WhatsApp. Thankfully, the weather cooperated with us & we were able to get amazing photos! Our guide (with his pro photography skills) & driver took the time to stop at scenic spots along the way to capture extra majestic views near a fjord. Being in a small group of 6 visitors (total 8 people in the vehicle) really helped make things easier to follow the Aurora forecast. Once we stopped to make the campfire for roasting corn & later marshmallows (also included: hot chocolate, coffee, or tea) we started getting glimpses of the Aurora & the longer we were out the better the views got! In addition to photos, our guide also took a video & a time-lapse. The guide and driver’s enthusiasm made the trip even more fun! My southern Californian soul also deeply appreciated the thermal suit & I learned I do need two layers of wool socks (if you get too cold they are happy to let you warm up your feet in the van). A huge thank you to Jinyar and Luigi for a fantastic time!

Great experience - We had a great time with our guides.
They were available and welcomed us, they had prepared the necessary to be very warm during the excursion (I was accompanied by my children 10 and 12 years, they had prepared suits for them).
You can see that they are experienced people who are passionate about what they do
Oh yes and big more: the guide takes care of making us many photos with an exceptional quality: beautiful
I recommend 100%

The most moving trip since my first safari - I’m 61 and have travelled quite a bit over the years, from safaris in Kenya to road trips in Canada, but this Northern Lights tour by the fjords of Tromsø is now right at the top of my list.
Our guide, Jinyar, picked us up on time at the hotel and immediately made everyone feel safe and welcome. The van was warm, with Wi-Fi and plenty of space for our winter layers. He handed out thermal suits, explained the plan, and kept checking the weather and aurora forecasts as we drove along the Arctic Sea.
The clouds were stubborn, but he kept adjusting the route until we reached a quiet fjord with a gap in the sky. He lit a small campfire, grilled corn and marshmallows, and poured hot chocolate while we waited. When the Northern Lights finally appeared, reflecting on the water, it reminded me of the first time I saw lions in the wild that same feeling .Highly recommend.
The photos he took and shared later were beautiful. For anyone over 50 who still loves a bit of adventure, this small-group aurora chase is perfect.

Calm and Confident Guide - I’m 63 and have some trouble walking on snow, but Jinyar made sure I was safe and comfortable the entire time. He parked close, helped me with the suit, and always checked if everyone was warm enough. The hot drinks, snacks, and friendly atmosphere made it feel like we were with friends. When the Northern Lights appeared, even briefly, it was unforgettable. His photos captured what our eyes couldn’t.

Real Chasing, Not Just Touring - We’ve been to many countries, but this night in Tromsø stands out. It felt like a true hunt for the aurora, not a simple bus tour. The Car was Big with lot of space. Jinyar tracked the weather with such focus, explaining every move. We stopped several times, built a fire. The aurora finally appeared behind a mountain ridge slow, quiet, and beautiful. For those who like authenticity, this is the real deal.

Our Night life Arctic Experience - This was an adventure worth every minute. My wife and I are both around 55 and usually prefer calmer tours, but this one gave us both comfort and thrill. Jinyar drove carefully through heavy snow, always explaining what he was doing. He found an open sky near a fjord and helped us set up by the fire. We drank hot chocolate, ate biscuits, and listened to stories about the Arctic. The photos we got later were breathtaking. Highly recommend for anyone who still has a sense of adventure.

A True Northern Lights Hunt - I’ve been on many tours before, but this one felt different . real, personal, and full of adventure. The weather was tough that night with strong wind and snow, but Jinyar didn’t seem worried. He told us, “The lights always find a way,” and somehow, he was right.
After a smooth hotel pickup, we drove for hours through snowy roads, stopping at different points to check the sky. He kept everyone’s spirits high, offering tea, hot chocolate, and snacks from the back of the van. When we finally reached a small clearing near the sea, the clouds moved just enough to reveal the aurora.
He set up his camera, helped everyone get good photos, and even made a small campfire so we could warm up. We laughed, took pictures, and just enjoyed the silence of the Arctic night. It felt like a reward after the chase and honestly, that made it even more special.

Calm After the Storm - We almost canceled because the weather looked terrible, but I’m so glad we didn’t. Our guide, was determined to find clear skies no matter what. He kept checking maps and radar, driving through snow and wind until we finally reached a quiet fjord where the sky started to open.
He made sure everyone was comfortable, passing around hot chocolate, cookies, and warm snacks while the snow fell around us. Just when we thought the night was over, the clouds broke and the Northern Lights appeared above the mountains. It was freezing, but we all forgot about the cold.
The pickup from our hotel was right on time, the van was warm and clean, and the whole night felt safe and well organized. It wasn’t an easy night for weather, but thanks to Jinyar, we had one of the most beautiful moments of our trip.

A Peaceful, Romantic Night Under the Northern Lights - We booked this tour hoping to see the Northern Lights, but it turned out to be so much more than that. My partner and I were picked up right from our hotel and joined a small group heading out toward the fjords. The drive itself was beautiful snow covered mountains, frozen lakes, and quiet Arctic roads.
Our guide found the perfect spot by the sea, far from any city lights. We sat by a small fire, wrapped in warm suits, listening to the waves while waiting for the aurora. When the lights finally appeared, they filled the sky in green and purple, reflecting over the water it was unreal.
The guide took amazing photos for us, helped everyone stay comfortable, and explained so much about the Arctic and the Northern Lights. It never felt rushed or touristy, just calm, personal, and genuine.
For couples looking for something truly special in Tromsø, this was the perfect mix of adventure and peace one of those nights you’ll never forget.
