Highlights
  • The St. Lawrence Cathedral and Bell Tower - The construction of the Cathedral of St. Lawrence began in 1213 and spanned five centuries. This grand structure features three naves and showcases Romanesque and Gothic architectural styles. Its bell tower offers stunning panoramic views of Trogir, the island of Čiovo, the mainland, and the Adriatic Sea.
  • Radovan’s Portal - Radovan’s Portal, the main entrance of the Cathedral of St. Lawrence, was sculpted and carved by Master Radovan, a medieval craftsman from Trogir. This unique piece of sculptural art dates back to the first half of the 13th century.
  • Central Square in Trogir - John Paul II Square, or Trg Ivana Pavla II in Croatian, is one of the most beautiful historic piazzas I have ever visited. Surrounded by some of Trogir’s most significant buildings and largely occupied by the tables and umbrellas of local cafes, it feels like an open-air lounge. You can easily spend a couple of hours here enjoying a coffee, an ice cream, and the rich history and architecture on a sunny day. It is a relaxed and beautiful space.
  • Trogir - Town Hall – Built in the 15th century, this stone building features an elegant courtyard adorned with coats of arms. The exterior staircase is one of the most striking examples of Venetian architecture in Trogir.
  • St. Sebastian - St. Sebastian’s Church and Clock Tower – Built in 1476 by the grateful citizens of Trogir after being delivered from the plague, this church was designed by Niccolò di Giovanni Fiorentino, also known as Nicolas of Florence.
  • Trogir - Town Loggia – Dating back to the 13th century, this covered space next to the Clock Tower was where the citizens of Trogir used to gather to discuss daily matters. The local court also met here on certain days to proclaim laws and conduct court cases.
  • Palace Cipiko - The Great Cipiko Palace – Originally a group of Romanesque buildings, the palace was extensively remodeled between the 15th and 17th centuries, adopting a Venetian Renaissance style. Niccolò di Giovanni Fiorentino also worked on this project, carving the south portal of the palace.
  • Town Museum - Housed in a series of palaces once owned by the Venetian Garagnin-Fonfogna family, the museum is located just inside the North Gate, one of the two main historic entrances to the once-walled town.
  • Trogir - Church of Our Lady of Mount Carmel – Founded in the Middle Ages, this church historically served Trogir’s fishermen, craftsmen, and laborers. It is located just off the waterfront promenade in the western part of the Old Town. If you visit Trogir on July 16th, you can witness the traditional procession with the statue of Our Lady in the evening.
  • Kairos Collection - The bas-relief depicts a young man standing on tiptoe, ready to fly away at any moment. His arms are outstretched, holding a pair of scales. His long tuft of hair falls over his forehead, while the crown of his head is bald. When the right moment comes in your life, seize it by figuratively grabbing Kairos by his long tuft, or he will fly away and you will be left empty-handed, grasping at the back of his head.
  • Waterfront Promenade - Riva – This is what the locals call Trogir’s palm-lined promenade. Wide, flat, and straight, it runs along the water’s edge and offers splendid views across the sea channel to the nearby island of Čiovo.
  • Kamerlengo Castle - The Kamerlengo Castle is an early 15th-century fortress located at the end of Trogir’s promenade. It stands on the corner of the small island that hosts the Old Town. Nearby, you will find the local football pitch, a small playground for children, and the stalls of local tour operators.

Very good! - Knowledgable and funny guide! The tour was very good, we got to know a lot of Croatia and Trogir history. Even though it was hot and crowded in Trogir, the tour guide managed to avoid the sun and the crowds!

Wonderful guide - recommend - Our wonderful guide, Kristina was knowledgeable, funny and very friendly. She showed patience with a slow walker in our family party. I’ve never been on a walking tour before and this experience has opened my eyes to the benefits of learning about the places you visit to understand the culture and find intricacies previously unnoticed. Interesting stories about Trogir, its invaders and influencers, the challenges and brutality of medieval life and the transition to today’s tourist magnet. Fantastic recommendations for restaurants and menu choices. Recommend

One of the best tour guides I’ve had in Europe - Daniela is AMAZING. Smart, funny, loves Croatia but keeps it real. She’s local and knows so much great history and gives you just enough info to appreciate culture and history and current situation…and then makes you curious about learning more. She was one of the best tour guides I’ve had in Europe across 40 tours in major cities and small towns. We are from the USA and she was generous with her time for extra questions and made us teary eyed a bit when she shared about the impact of the independence war on her family. Please go on this tour and tip her generously. She is so good. Hvala, Daniela!
