It is interwoven with deep valleys created by significant erosion. This lunar-like landscape is distinguished by its extensive geological formations. The unique morphological structures of Cappadocia are the result of thousands of years of continuous erosion, shaping the tuff deposits into unusual pyramids and cones.
• Derinkuyu Underground City - You will travel approximately one hour to visit the Derinkuyu Underground City. Initially used as a shelter by the late Romans against potential Arabian invasions, it later served as natural food storage for locals. Derinkuyu is the deepest underground city in the Cappadocia region.
• Ihlara Valley - Ihlara Valley, known for the nearby gorge of the same name, is a 16 km (10 mi) long canyon carved into volcanic rock in southern Cappadocia, following eruptions from Mount Erciyes. A stream flows through the valley. The valley is unique for its ancient history of inhabitants. The entire canyon is filled with rock-cut underground dwellings and churches from the Byzantine period. Due to its abundant water and hidden structure, it was the first settlement for early Christians fleeing Roman soldiers. The Ihlara Valley houses hundreds of ancient churches carved into volcanic rocks. Notable churches include Ağaçaltı Church, Sümbüllü Church, Pürenliseki Church, Kokar Church, Yilanli Church, Karagedik Church, Kirkdamatli Church, Direkli Church, Ala Church, Kemerli Church, and Egritas Church.

• Yaprakhisar Koyu - Stop at the panorama point for another view of the impressive Monastery.
• Selime Monastery - Selime Monastery, the largest rock-cut monastery in Cappadocia, features a cathedral-sized church. Carved by monks in the 13th century, it includes monks’ quarters, a large kitchen, and stables for animals. The walls were once adorned with frescoes, though little remains today.
• Pigeon Valley - Pigeon Valley, with thousands of pigeon houses carved into the rock, presents a surreal vision reminiscent of a Salvador Dali painting. The conical formations result from volcanic eruptions millions of years ago. Over time, wind, rain, and other natural forces have eroded the volcanic rock, creating tufa, a soft and malleable stone.
