- Postojna Cave - Postojna Cave, the queen of all caves, is the best-known cave in the world. It is also the greatest tourist attraction in Slovenia and one of the world’s largest karst monuments. This is the only place in the world where the underground landscape can be traversed on an electric train and where you get to meet this underground kingdom’s most famous inhabitant - the proteus (olm) - up close. A fantastic web of tunnels, passages, galleries and halls, astonishing diversity of karst features, as well as easy access are certainly the main reasons for such popularity of the cave and a large number of visitors (more than 36 million of them in over 200 years).
- Predjama Castle - The Predjama Castle reigns over the surrounding area, not far from the Postojna Cave, in the idyllic village of Predjama. This picturesque, magnificent, defiant, mysterious and impregnable castle has been perched up in the middle of a vertical 123-meter high cliff for more than 800 years. Its romantic appeal is further emphasized by the idyllic Lokva River, which disappears into the underground world deep down below the castle. As the only preserved cave castle in Europe, the Predjama Castle offers a unique insight into the building techniques and resourcefulness of people in the Middle Ages, who were looking for and found a safe harbor for themselves right at the entrance into the cave. During a siege that took place in the 15th century, the castle provided a refuge for its best known and most notorious owner - Erazem of Predjama. The legend about the courageous robber baron Erazem, who remained undefeated until one of his servants betrayed him, is still in people’s minds, inspiring and alluring as ever. It was this safe abode of his which helped the brave knight resist the besiegers without much difficulty for more than a year.

Excellent! - Ernie was terrific! We enjoyed his stories. It’s about 48 degrees in the cave; bring a jacket! “Baby Dragon” gelato was very good!

A Memorable Trip! - Ernie was an excellent guide! He was very friendly, knowledgable and inclusive of all in our group. So glad it was a small group experience. The cave and castle tours did not disappoint, either. Incredible sites not to be missed. Perfect trip from Trieste!

A sight to be seen!!!! - The caves were amazing!!!! However, it was very difficult to walk through if you have any walking issues (but worth the pain!). The train ride was very fun.

Postonja cave & Castle - This is a Must do tour, Slovenia is beautiful. Our Tour guide Ernest was OUTSTANDING! He was very knowledgeable and very friendly. I would HIGHLY recommend Ernest with this tour company. The cave was absolutely BEAUTIFUL, I would recommend taking a sweater or rent a jacket at entrance, the train ride was the highlight moment my for my wife and I. On our next visit, we would definitely use this tour company and try to get our tour guide Ernest again.

First time in Slovenia - We had a wonderful day. Ernest our driver is a gentleman and told us so much about his native Slovenia. The countryside is beautiful and the visit to Postojna cave was amazing, a truly remarkable place. We rounded the day off with a visit to Predjama castle and a most welcome toasted sandwich. We would highly recommend this tour, and a big shout out to Ernest. Thank you.

Disappointed - Expected small group of 15 max. We were 80+ on 2 buses. Went to caves with no guide or audio. Several of the audio at the castle didn't work. Rushed and no time to eat or use restrooms. Sites were amazing, but we didn't get the most out of it. We booked with viator instead of the ship for a more personal experience.

NEVER USE VIATOR - book with local company - DO NOT USE VIATOR TO BOOK THIS TOUR. Go directly to the local or operator as they are wonderful and have fantastic guides.
Viator is a bait and switch. You book one thing and get something else. This is the second time this happened with them. Never use Viator!
