- Postojna Cave - Postojna Cave, the queen of all caves, is the best-known cave in the world. It is also the greatest tourist attraction in Slovenia and one of the world’s largest karst monuments. This is the only place in the world where the underground landscape can be traversed on an electric train and where you get to meet this underground kingdom’s most famous inhabitant - the proteus (olm) - up close. A fantastic web of tunnels, passages, galleries and halls, astonishing diversity of karst features, as well as easy access are certainly the main reasons for such popularity of the cave and a large number of visitors (more than 36 million of them in over 200 years).
- Predjama Castle - The Predjama Castle reigns over the surrounding area, not far from the Postojna Cave, in the idyllic village of Predjama. This picturesque, magnificent, defiant, mysterious and impregnable castle has been perched up in the middle of a vertical 123-meter high cliff for more than 800 years. Its romantic appeal is further emphasized by the idyllic Lokva River, which disappears into the underground world deep down below the castle. As the only preserved cave castle in Europe, the Predjama Castle offers a unique insight into the building techniques and resourcefulness of people in the Middle Ages, who were looking for and found a safe harbor for themselves right at the entrance into the cave. During a siege that took place in the 15th century, the castle provided a refuge for its best known and most notorious owner - Erazem of Predjama. The legend about the courageous robber baron Erazem, who remained undefeated until one of his servants betrayed him, is still in people’s minds, inspiring and alluring as ever. It was this safe abode of his which helped the brave knight resist the besiegers without much difficulty for more than a year.

The caves are amazing. I... - The caves are amazing. I have been to many, and these are the best experience. The castle cave is also a good historical landmark if you don’t like stairs. It’s very interesting tour as long as you like walking up stairs. The tour guide Jimmy was great, with good stories and kept the tour organized. Definitely worth the effort! But expect a bit of effort walking up paved paths and stairs, but the views motivate well.

Fascinating Cave and Castle in Slovenia - The cave and castle were absolutely worthwhile to visit. This was a half day trip from Trieste that gave us a glimpse of Slovenia, and I definitely want to go back. Ernie was a great tour guide. He was very knowledgeable and entertaining. Misha, our driver also did an excellent job. If you are looking for a fun adventure then I highly recommend seeing Postojna Cave and Predjama Castle.
*A few things to keep in mind…
1) This tour includes a lot of stairs and a decent amount of walking.
2) The temperature in the cave is at a constant 10 degrees C. A jacket is not a bad idea even in summer (but we did fine without one, too).
3) Remember to bring your passport with you since you will be crossing an international border.
4) Eat a good breakfast or bring a snack. There is not much time between activities to stop and eat.

Nice day trip - A nice short trip to two sights in Slovenia. The castle a nice quiet place not to overflow. The cave as a main attraction very worth seeing but therefore also many tourists.
The driver Ernest was very nice and told many interesting facts on the trip from Trieste.

Breathtaking Beauty and Flawless Organization - I had to reschedule my visit to the Postojna Caves and Predjama Castle due to a missed flight, and the process was incredibly smooth. The guide was super friendly, and the organization was excellent. The caves themselves were absolutely breathtaking. Highly recommend this tour for anyone visiting the area!

Amazing!!! - This was amazing. It’s hard to believe how they built that castle so many years ago! The caves were mesmerizing!! Ohhs & ahhs around every corner! This is definitely a must see!!
Disclaimer: this is not a tour for anyone who has physical disabilities. It’s a lot of walking up & down stairs in the castle. Also a lot of walking in the cave on wet cement.

Unbelievable views! - The designations were amazing, tour guide was very friendly and wonderful conversation, bus was very comfortable and clean. Only wish there was more time at the destinations, maybe a half hour more at each? We felt very rushed to get it all done and definitely would have struggled if walking a bit slower (elderly etc)

Deception when booking - My wife and I had a round trip to
Prediama Castle and Postonija Cave with guide in
German language booked. Upon departure we learned that
the trip only with English-speaking guides
will. Since we don't understand English, we couldn't follow the detailed information. Serh, very annoying and the trip was for us
It's a total bust. We also had to move away from an American
Have fellow travelers berated because he felt disturbed because we tried to translate the contents of the tour guide.
Even after leaving the bus, we were still insulted.
