Great Trek - Early Sart, quite a long trip of about 3 hours to National Park, fubulous trek, scenery amazing, 3 hours up and 2 down, our guide was very knowledgable about all subjects relating to Argentina, the politics, the history and particularly the geography and geology. Started at 2,900m and went up to about 3,500m. Nobody in our party hd the slightest issues with altitude or breathing but it is a fairly testing trek if you are not used to robust exercise. Round trip, about 11 miles and a must for adventurous souls. Can't remember the name of our guide but he was good guy. Total time out about 12 hours.

Challenging trek up the mountains, with amazing views - Let's start with what I really liked. Top marks for the guides, Frederico and Manina. They were super professional, supportive and provided lots of interesting information. Frederico is clearly highly trained and experienced. Thanks, both of you! The mini bus was very good and comfortable and our driver Horacio was very skilled, not a single fault in those difficult roads. What could be improved? First of all, information on the site. I understand people want to sell the tour, but this is a very demanding trekking. It's 7 km uphill, from 3000 to 3400 meters high. For a sea level animal like me, it makes a lot of difference. At the end of the climbing I was panting like a dog in a hot day and walking really slow. This is a trip for people up to date with their regular aerobic training. I am 60 and not exactly a potato couch but I was on my limit. The views are amazing and being in the middle of the Andes is certainly rewarding. But I confess that getting to the Confluencia camp does not add much to the trip. The camp itself is of no interest and the views no better than along the way. So there is no clear reward to arriving there. The time for rest and lunch was limited. And there we were on the trail again. Add to this quite a long time in the bus - some 5 hours in total. In summary, I think that if you enjoy the challenge and is fairly fit, it's a fun trip. But there are probably less physically challenging alternatives with similar views. I wouldn't have made this trip if I know the true extent of it.
