• Shady Lane Cellars - Tour guests can buy flights, wine by the glass, bottles or join the wine club during this fantastic stop on the tour. One of the best vineyards on Leelanau Peninsula, guest can sip, savor and taste some of the best reds and whites in the area. Red wine drinkers can sample a stellar Blaufränkisch. White drinkers sample a Muscat or Coup de Blanc-Shady Lane is an old Chicken Coup. Shady Lane is one of the few area wineries who offer a Muscat which was the first grape brought to Europe by the conquering Romans.

This is a smaller “boutique” winery only producing 7000 cases per year. Our visitors will be seeing nature, vineyards and orchards– Shady Lane is not a busy road so there is no view of traffic, no close neighbors – just vineyard and woods in the heart of Leelanau County. An outdoor patio area will provide a relaxing environment with cozy views of the adjacent vineyards.

Soul Squeeze is one of the newest most up-and-coming wineries on Leelanau Peninsula. Tour guests can sip and savor some of the best dry Riesling in the area- a strong recommendation is the “Rapt” Riesling or a bubbly Gruner Veltliner. Red drinkers can purchase a glass of a rare Pinot Meunier or a Petit Sirah. Soul Squeeze is the winery that offers “Captain Hotpants” which is a blackberry/ghost pepper infused cider-AWESOME!

A big part of the Soul Squeeze mission is to help people in need. The Soul Squeeze label gives a portion of proceeds to charitable children’s organizations. This tasting room is located right next to the narrows in the beautiful little town of Lake Leelanau. Tour guests can also feel free to walk across the street and get a bottle of moonshine at Northern Latitudes Distillery or sit outside with a glass of wine and enjoy the fresh air.

  Boathouse Vineyards is proud of producing superb cool-climate red wines with a supporting cast of excellent white wines from its 25 acre vineyard planted with 99% Vinifera. Started from scratch in 2009, Boathouse Vineyards is a very popular location on Leelanau Peninsula. Some of the best Pinot Blanc and Pinot Grigio! Red drinkers can try a glass of Provemont Red which is a medium bodied dry red blend of Pinot Noir, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Syrah.

The Boathouse Vineyard tasting Room is at the “Narrows”, a channel of water connecting North and South Lake Leelanau, guests can sit on the covered porch or outdoors and enjoy views of the waterway. The original property was used by fisherman who stayed at the cabin on the property and then used small fishing boats kept in the 4-boat boathouse.

• French Valley Vineyard - Tour guests can buy flights, wine by the glass, bottles or join the wine club during this amazing stop at French Valley.
  Tour guests can sip, savor and taste some of the best reds and whites on the peninsula.

The owners planted the first 5 acres in French varietals in 2000. Not long after planting the first grapes, a beautiful Amish-crafted barn was acquired and renovated on the property. The two-story barn is fully restored and is the perfect location for a wedding, family reunion, or graduation party. Tour guests will enjoy picturesque views of cherry orchards and farmland as far as the eye can see.

French Valley Winery continues to add new varietals to the vineyard which now includes Pinot Noir, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio, Riesling, Frontenac Gris, and Marquette. An orchard of Montmorency cherries has now been added as well.

Guests can get some food including a charcuterie board. An outdoor pavilion is amazing with fires roaring.

• Rove Estate Vineyard & Winery - Tour guests can buy flights, wine by the glass, bottles or join the wine club during their stop at Rove Winery. Perched atop the highest point on the Leelanau Peninsula at the Gallagher Estate, Rove Winery is a family farm and winery focused on using estate-grown grapes to honor their rich northern Michigan legacy and Irish ancestry.

Tour guest can sip, savor and taste the famed Fiona Runda which is a blend of Gewürztraminer, Riesling, Pinot Gris and Pinot Blanc or a rare Michigan grown Sauvignon Blanc. Red wine drinkers can sample the Cab Franc / Merlot - 55% Cabernet Franc 45% Merlot blend.

This location is an incredibly strong finish to an amazing line-up of Leelanau Peninsula wineries. The views from this location a simply breathtaking and stunning. Tours are flexible, meet up at Rove Winery or That’sa Pizza. Drop off at the same pickup location or downtown Traverse City at one of the restaurants or bars. Tastings, wines, and food are not included in the price of the tour.
