Highlights

Explore the archaeological remains of the ancient Roman town of Canne della Battaglia, renowned for the largest battle of the Second Punic War fought between the Roman and Carthaginian armies near the river Ofanto, involving approximately 86,000 Romans and 50,000 Carthaginians.

The Carthaginians, led by Hannibal, one of history’s greatest commanders, emerged victorious in this battle.

Learn about the military strategies that enabled the Carthaginians to triumph, resulting in the tragic loss of over 55,000 soldiers.

In addition to the Roman ruins, we will explore the necropolis and the “Antiquarium” museum, which houses a rich collection of clay pots adorned with geometric patterns from pre-Roman cultures (Dauno-Peucetians) dating back to the 4th-3rd century BC, sourced from the tombs and necropolis of Cannae.

Great - Marco was a great guide. Full of fun tips. The museum was a little bit small. But it was fun. A little expensive but it was worth it
