GREAT EXPERIENCE - Great experience. Rudy was a wonderful driver, the buffet was outstanding, and the safari portion was very cool and safe. We saw elephants , ostriches, giraffes, Zebras, rhinos, hippos, African buffalo, Springbok, and lions. The leopard are elusive and mostly come out at night, but we were pleased with what we saw The buffet was outstanding and the staff helpful and gracious .

Aquila Game Reserve - Absolutely fabulous. Had a great time. Our driver Ibrahim, was just outstanding. Our game drive driver, Mike, was superb. Knew where the animals were & we saw all of the big five except the leopard. Had a wonderful time & highly recommend this trip. Even 10 times better than Hluluwhe/ Imfolozi, in Durban.

Great wildlife experience! - Fantastic experience seeing the animals up close! I would suggest some padding in the tour vehicles as many people were hitting their knees on the metal seat supports from the very bumpy tracts we traveled on. Great guide (Habibi) who picked us up right on time and had us informed and entertained on the trip out and back from Aguila. The Reserve lunch was delicious and game tour guide was wonderful

Game drives only 2 hours drive from Cape Town - of course very touristy - Those who participate in the game drives should be aware that you are located here 2 hours drive from Cape Town and not in Kruger National Park or in one of the large game reserves in the north. So if you want to experience all the animals as free-living as possible in huge reserves, you can't help but get on a plane and fly there. Aquila is a small reserve, but comparing it to a zoo is of course completely nonsensical. The animals can move freely on over 100 km2. I don't know which zoos the people visited, who write in their reviews here that the animals would be better placed in a zoo... Yes, the lions are in a separate enclosure... Yes, there are feeding grounds... yes, there are only 4 of some animal species on site ... but many tourists only come for one or two game drives and of course want to see as many animals and animal species as possible ... and this - as already noted - only two hours by car from Cape Town. Nobody's seen a leopard there in six months. The game drives take place due to the many holidaymakers here in large trucks with 22 places and you already have to have a very healthy spine if you want to survive all potholes on the completely extended paths harmlessly. Conclusion: if you have little time, are in the Cape region anyway, would like to see the Big 4 (you won't see a leopard there) and don't want to get on a plane especially, a short stay of one to two nights here is recommended. One should simply be aware in advance that it is a small reserve with a very touristy character, not comparable to the classic South African reserves, such as the Kruger National Park.

The paths upon which the... - The paths upon which the vehicles drive are very, very, very bumpy. Do not take this safari if you are pregnant, have back issues, or have headaches! The animals were great to see, and we are glad we took the tour. However, it did not begin to compare to the safari in Kruger National Park and others we have done in the past. It would also help to have a speaker in the vehicle so those in the back can hear the explanations of the guide more clearly.

Yawn... - If you have been to ANY other game park, skip this one! Very few animala and you don't get close to most. A zoo would have been better.
