Interesting overview of wine making in the region - An excellent tour guide who added greatly to the overall experience. The guide at the first stop off with the tour of the caves provided much insight of the making of Vouvray wine.

Lovely way to spend a half day - It was a very pleasant afternoon. Lovely to see the country side and the agricultural. We tasted some very nice wine of the region and learned the wine making process. It was a warm day so we really appreciated the troglodytes. Our guide was very helpful and had some good tips for things we could do near to where we were staying

Tour guide was very... - Tour guide was very knowledgable and engaging! It was shorter than expected (2 1/2 hours) and we didn't have the chance to see the actual vineyards or wine processing. It would have been helpful to have more information about the tour, to have better aligned my expectations. We did sample quite a few wines.

Not as expected - The wine tasting and visit to the wine caves was fabulous. The rest of the time was riding in the car and not very interesting. We did not stop to view the sites as pictured.

Very disappointed - I’ve been to many wine tours. This was easily the worst I’ve ever had and wish I could get my time and money back. They take you to two wineries. The first is absolutely atrocious. You pull up to an ugly driveway with trucks and hoses. You are taken into a stuffy cavern wi ty wine barrels and the guide there speaks monotone, uncharismatic and hard to hear. You see no grapes, no vineyards, and they have you sample white wine only. There is no red wine nor cheese or bread. You can’t even buy it. There is no view. Easily the worst wine tasting experience I’ve had. The second winery is much better and a pleasant experience. They actually make an effort. But it’s hard to shake off the feeling of the first location.

Don’t waste your time or money. - This was a tremendous waste of money. We paid for a 4 hour wine tour. This was around 3 hours total, we spent 2 of those hours driving in the car. We only stopped at 1 winery, tried 6 white wines (never even had a full glass). No food or snacks were offered. The your operator was very nice and informative but the tour itself was extremely boring. Then she drive us to a field for a 10 minute chat about vines. The pictures and details are misleading. There was no frolicking in the vineyards, large outdoor tables with people drinking wine, multiple stops at any of the chateaus/ vineyards. Just 40 of minutes of driving in a van, to a cold cave, tasting 6 wines, 20 minutes out to see a field, then back to Tours FR. We did our own self guided tours on other days, way better. I do not like to leave bad reviews, but we also asked for a few partial refund, and Viaror denied it. I guess they don’t actually care if the experience is good. 2 stars only because the guide was nice.
