Start your day with the Night Jungle Walk as the sun rises at 5:13 AM. This early morning adventure offers a unique opportunity to explore the nocturnal world as it transitions to daylight. Guided by expert naturalists, you’ll wander through the enchanting trails of Tortuguero National Park, where the jungle comes alive with the sounds of sloths, snakes, armadillos, and night birds. The high humidity and warm temperatures create a steamy atmosphere, adding to the thrill of the experience. As you trek through the forest, the rain-soaked leaves glisten, and the air is filled with the earthy scent of the jungle.
“The Best Guide to Discovering Nature - An excellent tour. Guide Byron was amazing, he can see hidden animals that I would have missed. I saw everything the jungle can offer. Also the spectacle of the turtles was wonderful.” (Reviewed at: 2024-09-20)
Canoe Through the Canals: A Serene Escape
As the day progresses, the rain continues to fall, creating a serene and tranquil environment perfect for a canoe tour through the Tortuguero canals. This two-hour journey, part of the Canoe Tour, offers a chance to witness the diverse array of wildlife that calls this region home. Glide silently through the water, surrounded by the lush greenery of the rainforest, and keep your eyes peeled for alligators, river turtles, and a myriad of bird species.
The rain enhances the experience, as the droplets create ripples on the water’s surface, and the sound of the rain mingles with the calls of the jungle. The high UV index suggests that sun protection is advisable, even on a cloudy day, as the sun occasionally breaks through the clouds, casting a warm glow over the landscape.
“Perfect. - It is a super complete excursion! We loved it, we couldn’t attend the morning canoes and we were given the choice if in the afternoon we wanted to do the excursion that we had or the one we couldn’t do, and the truth Esq amazing, the guide Bernard very good, saw the animals that other guides did not see. We loved it!!!! I totally recommend it” (Reviewed at: 2025-01-22)

“Give it a shot - nice tour and atmosphere in the dark - There was a misunderstanding about the meeting point but the agency together with the guide (Boa) solved it quite fast :) Very interesting tour during evening hours! Boa was an excellent guide in terms of knowledge and behaviour, he gave us a lot of information about the creatures we met (spiders, frogs, sloth, lizards) and he was funny as well.” (Reviewed at: 2025-03-05)
