Amazing place, having a guide is a must!!! - We visited the Convent of the Christ after a morning tour of Crustas De Mira de Aire which is 40 minutes away.
We had lunch at the cafeteria do Castelo (meeting point with the tour guide) and started our tour in time at 2:30 with Anna.
Anna is an amazing and knowledgeable tour guide. She took us back in time to the Middle Ages recounting relevant stories about the place and gave us a nice overview and an outline of the tour while on the grounds outside the convent. Next we went inside, where she walked us through the three main sections of the place telling us historic facts about every little detail. It was a wonderful tour and we were very happy that we had a guide, otherwise we would have missed a lot of nice stories and details about everything… there are almost no signs or plaques to tell about the place so having a guide is a must!!!

Tomar tour - Anna was very knowledgeable but inserted humour to keep things interesting. One of the best tours we have had in Portugal. Would recommend this tour to all visiting Tomar.

Not to be missed! - I did this site by myself and loved it. The walk up the hill to get there was fine. Finding the entrance to the convent was a little tricky, even though I asked numerous people where it was. Once inside, it was mesmerizing. The layout and wall paintings are fascinating. Reminded me in some ways of the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem. It is such an unusual site and well worth the time to visit. The book shop unfortunately did not have any books, on the convent, in English.

Wonderful visit to the Convent of Christ - Wonderful, interesting and educational. We spend half a day at the convent and walking around the gounds. It is a massive monastery complex and is worth the trip.

Amazing guided tour. Highly recommend it - We just finished a tour of the Convent of Christ with Tiago, and it was fantastic. He was incredibly knowledgeable and even extended the tour for us. Tiago went the extra mile by walking us down to the old city and sharing some of its history along the way. Despite the rainy weather, he was thoughtful and kept us covered with his umbrella. This tour completely transformed our experience, and we highly recommend it 100%!

Worth every penny! Take it without hesitation :) - We had an amazing tour around the Convent with Carolina - she is a historian, knowledgeable and not boring narration, showed as a lot of hidden gems. You definitely need someone who knows the place to show you around, otherwise - you could get lost!
One of the best places I ever visited, for sure!

A must see site in Tomar - A must visit in Tomar, the convent, is more than a small site, it was during many centuries part of Portuguese history and sample of architecture, it is an amazing site with so many parts and the church is simply impressive, if in TOMAR a must see site.

Fantastic tour in Tomar. - We had a terrific tour with James in Tomar. He was extremely knowledgeable and told us all about the Knights Templar and the history. He took us all around the outside and inside the convent. It was 2 hours and well worth it.

our guide made this tour exceptionally fun - Our guide was Sara Rodrigues and for the rest of our vacation in Portugal we wished she was with us. She was very knowledgeable about the grounds, the buildings, and the history. She was able to answer all of our questions, even those that went beyond the subject of the tour. I hate history but the family I traveled with doesn't, so I anticipated being bored, but Sara is a wonderful story-teller. She wove in stories and humor that brought everything to life.

The guide made it so much more meaningful. - All the history the guide was able to share with our group made the castle and church come to life....she recommended we stop at Castle Abmoural enroute to Evora. Great suggestion.
