Highlights

Mt Fuji: Start in Tokyo, explore Mt Fuji, and stay at Kawaguchiko with a Fuji view!

Mount Fuji - Relish the breathtaking view of Mt Fuji from various photo spots!

Kyoto Prefecture - The ancient capital of Japan.

Sapporo - Savor the finest food and climate of Japan.

Takayama/Shirakawago: Depart from Mt Fuji and head to Shirakawago, drive to Takayama for lunch and the rest of the day

Osaka - Dive into Japan’s most exhilarating theme park! They keep breaking world records for speed, height, and thrill! Fun for the entire family :)

Takayama - Immerse yourself in rich history and nature, and experience the Japanese countryside.

Okinawa Prefecture - Japan’s beach resort paradise!

Nagano: Depart from Takayama and head to Nagano prefecture, Drive back to Tokyo in the evening

Snow Monkey Park (Jigokudani Yaen Koen) - Ahhh, the highlight! Witness the Japanese Red-faced snow monkeys in their (semi) natural environment. Jigokudani translates to hell valley, as plants struggle to grow with so much sulfur and heat in the water. The unique scenery created by volcanic activity is quite enjoyable.

Zenko-ji Temple - A more traditional temple compared to some you may see in Tokyo. This temple offers a more spiritual experience as it isn’t swarmed by tourists :)

Hakuba Goryu Ski Resort / Alpine Garden - Welcome to one of the world’s best powder snow destinations! Hakuba is renowned in the off-piste community and is just a 2-hour drive from the snow monkeys! If you wish to ski in Hakuba, I highly recommend extending your trip to 2 days to fully enjoy everything. Just let me know if you want to extend your trip when booking!

Shiga Kogen - A winter-exclusive attraction, this ski resort is right next to the snow monkeys and offers excellent snow :)

Togakushi Soba Museum Tonkururin - Nagano is famous for Soba, learn to make traditional Japanese Soba from scratch :)

Endo Sake Brewery - One of over 10 Sake breweries in the area where you can enjoy tastings.

Matsumoto Castle - One of Japan’s most cherished castles, and one we can explore inside! Its five-tiered, six-story main tower, built in the late 16th century, is the oldest surviving castle tower in the country.

Additional Information

Hi, I’m Kye. A slightly sarcastic Japan-born half-Australian semi-pro photographer who’s quick with a joke. Traveling through Japan can be awesome, it can also be very confusing and difficult. Japan Xperiences is here to make your trip smoother, more comfortable, and zero stress:) Not to mention, more memorable!

The three destinations that this trip covers are the places we think everyone visiting Japan should see at least once! Mt Fuji needs no introduction, so let me tell you more about the other two:

Takayama is a rural town north of Nagoya and is often called miniature Kyoto. There is a ton of history to immerse yourself in:) The best part? It’s not overcrowded yet! Takayama is my hometown so you’ll be sure to get a lot of authentic local experiences;)

The standard car we use is a 2023 Toyota Land Cruiser Prado. A Japanese luxury van is available as an option as well in case you want the extra space!

  • Remaining hours are allotted for transportation.

An amazing 2 week comprehensive tour of Japan. - Kai created a once in a lifetime exciting tour of many of the important locations in Japan. He was our driver, guide, translator and cultural attaché, helping us see Japan through the eyes of the Japanese. Unique to Kai and his company was his flexibility and willingness to adopt and deviate from our plan to meet our needs and make sure we got the most out of every experience. His level of customer support is the highest we’ve ever experienced.

Japan Clan a couples trip to remember - We started off booking the offered two days tour and ended up booking a two weeks private tour for 3 couples. Kye took care of all the preparations including a very comfortable van. We visited multiple destinations in Japan enjoying the beautiful cherry blossoms along the way and visited locals artisans and markets and saw demonstrations of tea ceremony, had guided meditation, dinner with a Geisha and saw Sumo wrestling and much more. Kye was our guide/driver/translator/photographer and more. Our journey wouldn’t be so comfortable and educating without Kye’s helpful bilingual skills, his impacable driving and punctuality. He was very flexible and attentive to our needs and requests. I definitely recommend a multi day visit to Japan with Kye, it’s an unforgettable experience which we will remember for a long time.
