Highlights
  • Mount Fuji - Enjoy the majestic view of Mt Fuji from several photo spots!

  • Arakurayama Sengen Park - One of the most desirable destinations around Mt. Fuji. You can get an awesome picture of Mt. Fuji with the Chureito Pagoda (1st picture on this listing). I’m not going to lie, it’s a bit of a climb lol

  • Arakura Fuji Sengen Shrine - This is the shrine located at the base of the park. This shrine is for the goddess of fire, one of the smaller shrines out at Fuji.
You thought the 2 minute climb up here was bad? Nah mate, still like 300 steps to climb to get to the view haha

  • Chureito Pagoda - Now this is what we’re all here for! Fantastic view of Mt Fuji and the village! There’s something here for each season so I expect to see you back here in 3 months haha
least walking downhill isn’t too tiring

  • Fujisan World Heritage Center(Mt.Fuji World Heritage Center) - Here you can learn about the history of Fuji and its culture.
But I mean… We are literally at Mt Fuji…. Don’t worry I tell the history and culture better anyway, best we skip this one hey?

  • Lake Kawaguchiko - A quiet lake, great for taking in the scenery and getting amazing photos! Is what I would say if the Japanese didn’t come here on the weekends on their jetskis lol
    Still good though

  • Oishi Park - Beautiful park by Kawaguchiko Lake with an astonishing variety of flowers. Best known for its lavenders.
If I had an ounce of romance in me, this is where I’d go for a romantic

  • Fuji Oishi Hana Terrace - Ice cream Ice cream Ice cream. That’s all you need to know.

Just in case you wanted some more info, its right next to the garden.

  • Saiko Lake - Japanese people fish here. It’s one of the 5 lakes surrounding Mt Fuji. Honestly, not too much to see here, let’s just do a quick drive-by.
  • Fujisan Hongu Sengen Taisha Shrine - A shrine built for a new era of Fuji worship. This place is brimming with historic importance.
Where is the line between genuine religion and a cult?
Sorry got distracted for a sec. Anyways, this is where some people start climbing Mt Fuji!
  • Oshino Hakkai - From nature to a traditional village, they have it all here.
  • Ide Sake Brewery - This one’s simple. Do you like Sake? Yes? Awesome.
Here you can do a tasting of Sake and Whiskey.
Feel the power of Mt Fuji as you sip on alcohol made with melted snow water!
  • Lake Yamanaka - This is my personal favorite lake. Less people on jetskis, more quiet walk by the lake;)
  • Mt. Fuji 5th Station - Right. 5th station. Great for viewing the tip of Mt Fuji if we can’t see anything from the town as it’s a lot higher in elevation. Some decent shops for getting souvenirs. Great views all round. It snows a fair bit during winter, but don’t worry we don’t have polar bears in Japan.

Yet.

  • Mt. Fuji Panoramic Ropeway - It’s a cable car. Rope way=Cable car. now, with that out the way, it’s quite nice. We can get a fabulous view of the two major cities and Kawaguchiko Lake, not to mention Mt Fuji. There is a pair of swings at the top of a hill up there that makes for a great picture!
  • Saiko Iyashi no Sato Nemba - One of the old villages near Mt Fuji. Great place if you want some pics in kimonos and samurai gear, they have them for rent! Mt Fuji view, old Japanese buildings plus lots of things to see and do.
  • Fugaku Wind Cave - Easy difficulty: There are 2 sections where you need to crouch a bit but nothing too bad. This cave is slightly warmer than the Ice cave.
  • Narusawa Ice Cave - Medium difficulty: There are a few places that are quite low, 3 feet/1 meter ish? This is the coldest of the 3 caves.
  • Saiko Bat Cave - Hard difficulty: This is the cave with the lowest sections. They make you wear a helmet. This is the most adventurous of the 3 caves.
  • Gotemba Premium Outlets - Want to save big on brand names? This is the perfect spot for it;) (Free option)

Additional Information

Hi, I’m Kye. A Japan-born half-Australian semi-pro photographer who’s quick with a joke. Traveling through Japan can be awesome, but it can also be challenging. My boys and I are here to make your trip smoother, and more comfortable. Not to mention, memorable!

I’ll walk you through the best places to visit on our way to Mt Fuji, and we can figure out what works best for your trip:) I’ve posted some options in the sample itinerary. Please note we won’t be able to do everything on the list. With the standard plan, I’d say 4-6 from the list depending on the distance. Not to worry though, we offer up to 6-hour extensions as well as multi-day tours all across Japan! Just let me know what you need;)

The standard car I use is a 2023 Toyota Land Cruiser Prado. A Japanese luxury van is available as an option as well in case you want the extra space;)

ALL pictures on our page are taken by us, photography is included in this tour :)

Mount Fuji Day Trip - We did the Mt. Fuji tour with Kye, who was fluent in both English and Japanese. His vehicle was spacious and comfortable for a family of 6. He recommended we leave at 6am to beat the traffic and it payed off as we were among the first to get to the pagoda viewing Mount Fuji. Overall, we had an excellent experience!

Fun Trip to Fujiyama with Kye - My first time using the company and it was an overall a great experience. Although we cannot see mt fuji at the clearest but Kye, our guide, has helped us a lot. Him being fun and supportive during our trip is really appreciated. Definitely recommended for having a private tour in Japan.

Incredible experience and guide - We had a great experience with our guide Kye and Japan Xperiences. He was incredible during the 5 days he guided us. Always taking care of every last detail. He was extremely knowledgeable about the things we should see/do, history, culture, etc. He was very easy to communicate with as a native English speaker and fluent in Japanese as a resident. The transportation was luxurious and comfortable as well. I would highly recommend him (and have), and would definitely hire him if we come back to Japan. Compared to some of the other guides we had earlier in our trip (before meeting Kye), there is no comparison. He was hands down better.

Best Mt Fuji Tour w/ Personality & Flexibility - We are absolutely thrilled we booked this private tour & got Kye as our guide. I can't imagine a better tour guide. We had a family of 9 with 3 kids: 11, 12 & 15 & booked the 14 passenger van, which was the right choice with each person having their own backpack. Kye had fantastic local knowledge, a great personality & unmatched flexibility. He made this tour so much better than if we tried doing this ourselves or even booked with a bigger tour service & probably saved us money. He definitely saved us time which is even more important because we only had 1 day to go to Mt. Fuji. Unfortunately, it wasn't the ideal weather during the day. But he absolutely made the most of the sites we saw & we were actually able to see breaks in the weather in perfect time for great pictures of Mt. Fuji above the clouds & just before the snow monkeys in Jigoku Dani climbed back up their mountain. We got heavily rained on in Saiko Iyashi-no-Sato traditional village. But were able to get some photos beforehand & Kye has some candids that we're anxiously awaiting, of us running back to the van. We also saw Shiraito Falls & the Wind Cave. He made great recommendations of sites to see all around the mountain, not just on one side like a lot of tours do. We highly recommend paying extra for the earlier start. We started @ 5am & beat virtually all the traffic leaving Tokyo. This saved us time & money, considering you could end up paying more for extension time because you're stuck in traffic. We paid for extra extension time because we wanted to see sites all around the mountain & he got us to each site quickly & let us explore as much as we wanted. If you want someone with great recommendations & personalized flexibility, look no further. If we have another opportunity to book with Japan Xperiences again, we will & will pay extra to lock in Kye, the main tour guide. He was simply the best! Can't wait to see the photos he took of our family! Thank you so much for making this tour a memorable one!

Luxurious. - This was an excellent, personal, luxurious experienced. No detail was left out. We were able to customize our tour starting with excellent views of Mt. Fuji, went to the ice cave and saw beautiful water falls. Having our own guide and car was super convenient. I highly recommend this tour for the personal experience. Our guide also took wonderful pictures of us.

Above & Beyond Experience!! - I just did a tour with Kye from Japan Xperiences, and it was awesome. Kye was super friendly and helpful. The tour was worth every penny—great quality and well-organized. It was more than just sightseeing; it was about really experiencing Japan. Kye even helped us plan the rest of our week with great tips on what to do and see. This trip exceeded all my expectations. Highly recommend Japan Xperiences for an unforgettable day in Japan.

Best day in Japan despite it raining! - Our trip with Kye was absolutely amazing! The weather wasn't great on the day we went, so we couldn't see much of Mt. Fuji, but that actually turned out to be a good thing. Kye and his team quickly came up with some fun activities and local experiences so our day wouldn't be wasted. My husband and I love traditional Japanese crafts, so we started with a super cool Japanese fan-making class. For lunch, Kye took us to a sushi workshop with sake pairing, which we totally loved. After lunch, we got to have a Kimono experience. We dressed up and had our makeup and hair done for a photo shoot in Tokyo. It was so much fun! We told Kye it was our honeymoon, and he went all out to make sure we had the best memories and photos. I can't say enough about how special our day with Kye was and how thankful I am that we chose his company for our Mt. Fuji day trip. Thank you so much, Japan Xperiences team, for making all the last-minute arrangements for us. We'll definitely be back to Japan, and I highly recommend Kye and his team to anyone wanting a personalized experience! -Brooke and Adam
