House of Soviets - Embark on a day-long adventure with an unpredictable route that blends classic walking tours with excursions for true explorers. No monotonous monument hopping with dull lectures. My philosophy is to reveal the authentic country and hidden treasures that travelers wouldn’t discover on their own. Therefore, many of the places we might visit aren’t listed here to prevent the tourist industry from spoiling them. However, our first stop will definitely be DOM SOVIETOV to greet comrade Lenin, which is a perfect way to start.
-
The Christmas Cathedral - An optional loop through the 100 rouble backside.
-
The Suvorov Monument - The day trip will feature highlights, top attractions, and my favorite hidden gems that I won’t disclose here. But it’s likely these hidden spots will make the journey unique and unforgettable. One of the known attractions will be the Alexander Suvorov monument in the central square.
-
Green Market Center - A surprisingly modern vegetable market. What they call eco products are just regular products in my country.
-
Eternal Flame - Eternal flame and memorial for those who fell in the Great Patriotic War.
-
The Tank Monument - The T-34 is one of the most significant memorials in Transnistria. It’s a real combat tank whose crew was killed in Hungary as Soviet troops were advancing to Berlin.
-
Palacio Presidencial - Palace of Pioneers, Supreme Soviet with comrade Lenin in front.
-
Chitcani Monastery (Noul Neamt) - An optional detour to Kitskany village and Noul Neamt Monastery.
-
Bendery Fortress - Bendery, the second-largest town in this region, has both Soviet and medieval sights. On request, we can visit the old Turkish fortress on the bank of the Dniester River. I loved it when it was abandoned, but now during reconstruction, it has gained some significant perks.
-
Mig-19 Monument - Pridnestrovie is often rumored to be “back to the USSR,” but it’s more complex than that. You need to be in the right place at the right time to get that impression. One of my favorite spots to capture this feeling is the Aviators Memorial in Balka district, commemorating 30 years of victory in the Great Patriotic War.
-
Soviet Canteen - The journey will be multifaceted and contrasting, blending history and contemporary life, picturesque panoramas, and impressive Soviet relics. Our itinerary is flexible, with some planned parts and some optional or spontaneous adventures. Let’s be open to the world and all possible adventures. I will not only be a storyteller but also a guide to the real country and its people.
In the summer, they start selling kvas on the streets, a cool, refreshing drink made of water, bread, yeast, and sugar. You might like it or not, but it’s a chance to try something authentic, with a recipe unchanged since communist times.
My favorite lunch spot is the Soviet canteen - Stolovka USSR. It’s super tasty, atmospheric, and authentic, with a nice interior—perfect for a lunch stop.
- Kvint - I’ve discovered many intriguing nooks and crannies while doing my drawings. They aren’t listed on TripAdvisor but will make the day unforgettable and the tour unique. We’ll have time to discuss all the peculiarities of life in this unrecognized country. This is my homeland, and I’ve lived in Pridnestrovie since the state’s foundation. It’s completely safe, intriguing, and hospitable. Mount up, comrades! You won’t just be meeting a guide; you’ll be meeting a friend!
- Tiraspol - One of the lunch options is a reincarnated Soviet canteen. The place is amazing and still vastly underrated. Perhaps it’s better that it hasn’t been discovered and overrun by tourists.
- Transnistria - Each day is unique. If you decide to entrust your time to me, it won’t be just a tour; it will be an experience. Beyond borders and propaganda. Take off the horse blinders and come see for yourself. Welcome to Pridnestrovie, where we make cognac, not war!
