Old Moses Mountain Camp - Depart Nairobi at 7:30 am heading to Nanyuki town for lunch, which takes approximately 4 hours. Continue to Sirimon Gate, a 1-hour journey, reaching 2440m. From the gate, follow the path as it ascends through the forest, transitioning to heathland after about 3 hours. Approximately 3½ hours from the gate, the path turns right towards Judmaier Camp, at 3300m, for dinner and an overnight stay, L, D.
Judmaier Camp/Shipton Camp 6-7hrs, 17km, 900m ascent
Mount Kenya National Park - After breakfast, continue uphill, taking the left fork at the junction. An hour from Old Moses Camp, the path crosses Ontulili River. Proceed right, contouring through the Moorland, crossing Liki North, and continue uphill to Mackinders Valley, offering panoramic views of the main peaks. Enjoy dinner and an overnight stay at Shipton Camp, 4200m, B, L, D.

Mount Kenya National Park - Spend the day acclimatizing. Take a walk to Kami Hut and down to Hauseberg Lakes (Hauseberg Tarn and Nanyuki Tarn). Return to Shipton for dinner and an overnight stay.
Shiptons/Point Lenana/Mount Meru Bandas (Chogoria Gate) 11-12hrs, 32km, 785m ascent
Point Lenana - Depart at 3 am, ascending a steep, rocky quarry that cuts through a cliff, reaching Mount Kenya Point Lenana (6km from Shipton Camp) by 6:30 am, taking about 3 hours. After witnessing the sunrise, descend to Mintos Hut (6km), a 2-hour journey, for breakfast, and continue 20km, 4-5 hours further down to Mount Meru Bandas, 2950m, for dinner and an overnight stay on Mount Kenya, B, L, D.
Chogoria Bandas/Chogoria/Nairobi
Chogoria - Descend for 2 hours, covering 15km to the forest clearance, to catch a 4x4 transfer vehicle to Chogoria Village, where a transfer vehicle will take you back to Nairobi, B, L.

The climb ascends through a forest and leads to a broad ridge that approaches the summit area. The journey begins on the mountain’s northwest side, close to Nanyuki. Access is convenient, and the bunkhouse facilities are the finest on this side of the mountain.
