Highlights

Cluj-Napoca - Turda Salt Mine - Sibiel - Sibiu

Cluj-Napoca City Hall - Your tour will start from the gorgeous Cluj-Napoca, a city renowned for its bohemian cafes, and we will head to Turda

Salina Turda - Turda Salt mine was used for salt extraction ever since the pre-roman era, but today it has become an underground theme park. This UFO-shaped mine is equipped with a mini-golf course, a bowling field, a Ferris wheel, and a lake where you can enjoy a boat ride. It is the perfect location for a family picnic, and on top of that, it has countless health benefits, especially for the respiratory system.

Cetatea Alba Iulia - Then you will head to a place that played an important part in the rich history of Romania, Alba Iulia. The next landmark on our list is the Alba Carolina Fortress, the largest and most valuable bastion fortress in South-Eastern Europe. It was built in the early 18th century, as part of a fortification system created by Prince Eugene of Savoy to provide defense for the newly conquered provinces of the Habsburg Empire. Besides its beautiful architecture, the Alba Carolina Fortress attracts thousands of tourists through its Change of Guard ceremony, which takes place almost daily between May and September.

Biserica Sfanta Treime - Our next destination is Sibiel, a quaint village near Sibiu, a place where time stood still, and that is inhabited by less than 500 people. Once there, we will enjoy a carriage ride through the village, and then we will enter the home of a local family, where we will have a delicious dinner prepared with traditional products.

Sibiu - Bran Castle - Brasov

Bran Castle (Dracula’s Castle) - You will head to Bran Castle, known by many as Dracula’s Castle, built here over 600 years ago. This imposing castle still preserves some of its historic medieval ambiances, and you will have a chance to discover it beyond the popular myth of Dracula.

Brasov Historical Center - Your last destination for the day is Brasov, one of Transylvania’s most remarkable cities. Here, you will take a short walking tour, and you will discover some of the landmarks of this medieval city. The Black Church is the largest Gothic church in Transylvania and the largest religious edifice between Vienna and Istanbul. Inside, you will find one of the largest pipe organs in Europe, and you will discover the history behind its name.

Brasov - Sighisoara - Biertan - Cluj-Napoca

Centrul Istoric Sighisoara - The last day of your tour starts with a trip to Europe’s last inhabited medieval citadel, Sighisoara. You will visit its Clock Tower, which housed the Citadel Council until 1556, and was also used as holding cells for prisoners sentenced to death. The tower has a height of approximately 64 meters, and today it is home to Sighisoara’s History Museum.

Biertan Fortified Church - Your next stop is Biertan, one of the first Saxon settlements in Transylvania. Surrounded by quaint streets and vineyards, the medieval complex is made up of the church and its fortification, which was placed on top of a hill, in the heart of the settlement. The church was built between 1486 and 1524 in a Late Gothic style with Renaissance touches.

After you will head to a local craftsman’s house to explore a little bit further the culture of this region.

Perfect in every way - 1. The tour operator was professional 2. The hotels in the city center with good options for breakfast. 3. All through the tour, the guide was enthusiastic and knowledgable. 4. The food in same places came hard but was tasty.

An unforgettable experience! - This tour was the highlight of our entire European vacation. Joseph is like an encyclopedia of knowledge . A real history buff. From the local visits to the salt mine everything was absolutely perfect . We can’t stop raving to everyone how great he was and how fantastic Transylvania is. We look forward to booking a future trip with him and we have literally told all of our friends and family about him. Until next time ..... we will be back

Rolandia, show some respect and professionalism instead of cutting corners, not getting moneys worth. - Of all the great tours I had all over the world, this one sticks out like a sore thumb. The tours were great (7 days) to castles, palaces and churches. The negative part is the way the company provided inadequate service regarding transportation and the tour guides casual clothing. In every country, I’m normally picked up by a professional tour van but the guide drove his own car. His reasoning was that since I was a solo traveler, the van was not necessary. I’m sorry but that is not sufficient as I paid a good amount of money for this tour and I was expecting to be in a van. I’d rather sit in the back than sitting in the passenger seat in the front with the driver/guide. Plus, he was not dressed professionally. He wore a t-shirt and shorts everyday with sandals. I expect at least a collared polo shirt with long trousers and shoes. I’ve never seen this anywhere, Cambodia, Thailand, Vietnam, China, Malaysia, European countries, African countries even in safaris, they wear company uniforms. So, we probably looked like friends traveling. Not even wearing a guide I.D. Around his neck. Why should Romania tour be any different? I will not hire Rolandia ever again.
