Was hoping for better weather but still plenty of people on the island - Owner operator was very communitive. Which I appreciated Boat driver and onsite fascillitator did not speak English but it wasn’t a problem. Wish they had safer better steps to enter the boat. But it wasn’t a great excursion. They still going inclement weather. Very rough seas and got soaking wet but that was no fault of theirs. Pigs were abundant

Fun morning activity - This was very fun. As short or as long as you want to make it. The pigs are worth seeing. We enjoyed the long boat and snorkelling a lot too, we saw a ton of colourful fish

The luckiest pigs in the world - A great day with excellent service for pickup and return to our hotel. As an older couple we enjoyed the luxury of having a boat to ourselves with a very accommodating and friendly skipper. Being landed so close to the beach on Koh Madsum (Pig Island) that we hardly got our feet wet was a bit of a highlight when we saw how far some people on bigger boats had to wade through the water. The pigs and their interactions with the visitors was very entertaining while we enjoyed lunch and a beer or two. Surely these creatures must be the luckiest pigs in the world! We skipped the snorkeling but there were plenty of fish where we stopped to observe others doing this activity from other boats nearby. Definitely recommend this excursion to anyone old or young.

Pig Island by Longtail boat…. The best way to travel 🤗 - Excellent communication with Mr Tony re organisation/timings etc. Collected from hotel taken to a lovely new longtail boat., young Thai man took us to a beautiful snorkelling spot on the reef near Koh taen for however long we wanted then on to Pig Island. Again we stayed as long as we wished ( about an hour) lovely experience… fairly busy but wonderful to see people happy and smiling… young and old…er xx🤗 We are a couple 59 & 61 with our 13 yr old grandson and it cost no more for a boat to ourselves than in a large group….. Such a beautiful way to travel on the longtail boats…. Definitely recommend 🙏🏻🪷🇹🇭

Do it! - Everything was well organised from pick-up to returning home. The longtail boat made it feel more genuine.

Great idea for a morning - A perfect excursion for a nice morning. Note, however, that this excursion is not recommended for people with reduced mobility

Great boat trip - It was a great trip. First we were driven to a reef. It was mainly fish that were fed from the boat. Pig Island was great too. There was little going on here.

Setback - Went to pig island yesterday with a private lontail boat and snorkeled. That was the trip we booked. In our opinion, they should have cancelled this trip from the tour operator. The sea was very rough. And we had specially chosen this private tour for snorkeling. That pig island would be disappointing we had already thought of. We were done with that in 15 minutes. But had us looking forward to snorkeling. Especially since we went private. We could float as long as we wanted. We had that experience before. But the sea was rough snorkeling was not possible. Nothing to see because of the rough water and spicy current. Quickly got back on the boat. And there we were. The skipper said nothing let us down. Until we turned on translate and asked if we could go somewhere else. He then sailed us to the beach from koh tan. We had a drink there. We went back to the boat because we were worried about the weather and the rough seas. Although the skipper was not worried about anything, we had a nasty trip back to the pier. Hard rain on the way back and lots of splashing water made it almost impossible to sit properly on the longtail boat. We put on our diving goggles with snorkel during the return trip. Because we kept getting so much water in our mouths and eyes. That it really wasn't nice. And I'm not safe either. It's too bad. A wasted day.

commercialization and exploitation of nature - We didn't get what we expected. Madsum Pig Island looks nothing like the island of pigs in the Bahamas and not even like our hotel last year with a mini-zoo in Phuket, where pigs are cared for and look healthy and happy. In December 2024, Koh Madsum is a filthy littered patch of sushi, with no sun loungers, no umbrellas, only a bar of infrastructure with beer, pig food ($1.5 per 100 grams) and marijuana slightly more expensive than pig food. Pigs kept in mud are not mini-pygs, they are ordinary meat pigs whose fates are understood as they breed. Walking around the island is unpleasant because of the mud (it is broken glass on the ground, plastic, household waste that lies 1 meter from the beach (the shoes were taken from us on the boat). It is an example of the repugnant exploitation of nature by a man who has no concern for its conservation at all. We spent 1.5 hours on this island. Just found a cleaner place and went into the water. Next, snorkeling. The situation may be better in other months, but in December and January the water was murky, lots of plankton. The fish were just needles and yellow reef fish. Everything. The current is very strong, life jackets are recommended even for confident swimmers. Snorkeling took 30 minutes. Total, the whole "useful part of the excursion" - 2 hours of clean time, another 30 minutes transfers, the rest of the time - is lunch on the dock in Samui: rice, vegetables, watermelon. Not worth a day.

Wasted time and money! - Pickup and transport were impeccable, precise and comfortable. Boat driver spoke poor English, so no guidance. The snorkeling experience was bad - everything was cloudy. Whether it was the snorkeling equipment or the conditions in the sea are uncertain. Pig Island was a tourist flop. Did not match advertising images, could not swim and felt dirty. The advantage was that we had a private tour and could leave after a short time. Have travelled on many snorkeling tours and other tours both in Thailand and elsewhere - and had great experiences, but this was a waste of time.
