- Imerovigli - Next, proceed to the village of Imerovigli, a perfect location for capturing more photos. Your guide will lead you through the town’s center, explaining its architecture and showcasing the stunning blue-domed cathedral and hotels perched high on the caldera cliffs. As a preserved traditional settlement, Imerovigli’s architectural style remains unchanged, featuring mainly Cycladic and local Fira styles. Today, Imerovigli is one of Santorini’s most developed tourist destinations, boasting first-class hotels, restaurants, and various shops visited by tens of thousands of people worldwide each year.
- Oia - Oia is Santorini’s most renowned village, famous globally for its unique sunset, where the sun sets into the blue sea behind the volcano. The town is located about 120 meters north of the caldera, stretching from the west to the east coast of this narrow island.
- Megalochori - Traditional Village - A charming village where you can stroll along paved paths and admire classic Greek buildings, churches with blue domes, and bell towers. You will also have the chance to explore the 18th-century underground caves and see where people lived in the past. Megalochori’s attractions include two impressive churches in the village’s central square. The Church of the Introduction of the Blessed Virgin Mary features a wooden iconostasis and Byzantine icons of the Russian school, while the church of Agia Anargiri celebrates a significant holiday on July 1. The village has been mentioned in written records since the mid-17th century and appears on an 1801 map. Findings in the broader area indicate it has been inhabited since the early and late Cycladic periods.
- Monastery of Profitis Ilias - After visiting Imerovigli, continue to the Prophet Ilias Monastery, located atop Santorini’s highest mountain. Enjoy panoramic views of the island and the Aegean Sea. Mount Profitis Ilias is the island’s highest point, less than five kilometers (3.1 miles) from the village of Pyrgos. At its summit stands a monastery of the same name. Dating back to 1711, the Profitis Ilias Monastery is one of the oldest on the island and a stunning example of Cycladic architecture at its finest.
- Perivolos Beach - Take a walking tour here before heading to the famous black beach at Perissa-Perivolos, Monolithos, or Kamari Beach. Spend time exploring, and if you wish, enjoy an optional lunch (if time permits) at a local taverna (at your own expense). Although Santorini is not typically known for its beautiful beaches, Perissa Beach is a delightful surprise. It is a magnificent beach covered with black volcanic sand, perfect for sunbathing, swimming, and snorkeling. Located on Santorini’s southeastern coast, it extends at the base of the massive cape Mesa Vuno, which juts sharply into the sea. At the mountain’s top is the ancient city of Thira. Perissa is one of the island’s most cosmopolitan beaches, stretching for miles. It merges with Perivolos Beach, forming a beach over 7 kilometers long. The water is crystal clear, with a gentle descent and a beautiful color. The coarse black sand is pleasant to walk on and sparkles like glitter.
