Beautiful Greece - This was a great way to see the country. The hike up to old Delphi was enlightening. We had an amazing lunch in Delphi over looking the valley.

Excellent trip - thoroughly recommended - Our driver / guide, Thermos, was fantastic. He was extremely friendly and considerate. He had even made a lunch reservation at a local restaurant and kindly made recommendations. The vehicle - a top of the range Tesla - was super comfortable and air conditioned. Lots of bottled cold water was provided throughout the day. The trip itself was great, thoroughly recommend. Two major points of feedback: - A big part of going to Delphi is the Sanctuary of Athena Pronaia - this is where most of the best photos are from and essentially the main bit. It’s been closed for three months but this isn’t made clear on TripAdvisor and was a disappointment. - I don’t know if it was a formatting issue but the itinerary on the TripAdvisor page was muddled meaning it was impossible to tell the exact plan before the trip. This would have been useful for our own planning/preparation. I will add photos later…

- What an excellent day seeing Thermopylae, Delphi and the Greek countryside! Ioannis was an amazing tour guide and his knowledge of the history of all the places we visited provided an invaluable experience. We will definitely book this company again!

Amazing day delving into 2 of Greece’s historical gems! - Our day trip to Thermopylae & Delphi was a terrific experience to cap off our week in Athens, especially for history buffs. Ioannis, our guide, was very kind, knowledgeable, and an excellent driver. He arranged lunch for us at a restaurant in Delphi with great food and a spectacular view. Having a private tour for our group of 3 was especially great with Ioannis happy to customize our itinerary in terms of timing spent at different locations. It was an added bonus to see the beautiful interior of the country as we crossed through the mountains from views of the Aegean Sea to views of the Ionian. It was steep and winding at times but with Ioannis we never felt uneasy. It was a great day visiting 2 of the many amazing historical sites in beautiful Greece. The car was also comfortable and completely clean. Thanks, Ioannis!

Excellent trip done at our own pace with a friendly and knowledgeable driver (Ioannis) - We took the trip out to Thermopylae and Delphi. And we chose to do a “private tour” rather than a cheaper coach tour for two reasons 1) so that we could go at our own pace and 2) to avoid stopping for an hour here an hour there at the tour operators favourite shopping sites! First up Ioannis our driver was excellent, very friendly and knowledgeable (my youngest studies Ancient Greek so they were soon chatting away about the mythology and how the various city states interacted). As others have written in their reviews the drivers can also book an excellent restaurant for you in Delphi for lunch (with the most amazing view back down the valley to the Ionian Sea) On the trip itself - there’s not much at Thermopylae; a monument to King Leonides and a visitor centre (EUR3 entry price) with a short film about the battle and some interactive screens. But you can see the valley where the battle took place (and the end of the secret path that the Persians used). Plus the scenery around the area (the Aegean Sea this time) is also pretty On to Delphi. This is the most amazing site (we thought better in many ways than the Acropolis), in the heat it was hard work (definitely take a bottle of water with you). Fortunately there is a huge amount of see on the way up the hill (treasuries, the amphitheater, the rock at the centre of the universe) and plenty of places to stop in the shade. The stadium at the top is an impressive sight and here’s one of the differences between a private tour and the coach tours - because we had more flexibility we got to see it - we didn’t see a single coach tour there though - it looked like they were all stopping at the bottom of the amphitheater instead (a big shame in my view). Then a delightful lunch in Delphi - as I mentioned earlier the restaurant had great views, used all local produce and was great value - beware the salads are very large! All in all a great tour - more expensive than the coach trips but we’d do it again this way

Themos the driver is worth the process of the whole experience! - First, our driver, Themos, was the highlight of the day trip. Without him, it's just a normal day in Greece as a tourist. It is a long drive. 2.5 hours to Thermopylae. 1 hour to Delphi. Another 2.5 hours back to Athens. But Themos is engaging and friendly and willing and able to answer any questions and it makes the trip entertaining. His vehicle is clean and new and very comfortable for 2 adults and a 12-year-old. He also got us a table with an amazing view at a restaurant in Delphi by calling ahead. The food was the best we had in Greece to that point in the trip. Thermopylae is honestly not much to look at. It has a historical center with a 3D movie that lasts about 5 minutes and another room with interactive TVs that covers the history of the battle. It's 3€ per person. The historical site at Delphi is beautiful and super cool to walk through (I hope you like stairs), and if you are into history and archeology you can spend a solid 2-4 hours here. There is also a museum attached. Combo tickets for the site and museum were 20€ and kids are free.
