Discovering the Hot Gates: Thermopyles Hot Springs
After immersing yourself in the history of Thermopylae, take a moment to relax and rejuvenate at the Thermopyles Hot Springs. Known as the “hot gates,” these sulfur springs are steeped in mythology and legend. According to Greek mythology, the waters became hot when Heracles tried to cleanse himself of Hydra poison. The springs are a natural wonder, offering a soothing experience amidst the historical backdrop. The clear skies and warm temperatures make it an ideal day to soak in the therapeutic waters and reflect on the stories of the past. As you enjoy the springs, consider the ancient Greeks who once believed this was the entrance to Hades, the underworld. The combination of history and relaxation creates a unique experience that is both enlightening and refreshing.

Reviewed on 2023-06-03: Extraordinary Delphi & Glorious Thermopylae 10-Hours Tour - We had a fantastic day with our driver, Alexander, who truly made the tour for our group. He was more like a tour guide than a driver as he educated our group about Delphi and Thermopylae before dropping us off. He was an excellent driver and took the extra steps to make our trip special. We had plenty of time at both sites. Delphi is undoubtedly worth the trip. The climb to the top can be a bit challenging, but the museum is excellent for those who don’t want to make the trip. Thermopylae’s new museum was also worth the visit for us. The site itself is very simple and has a monument for Leonidas, so it was nice to spend more time in the museum which can be completed in 30-45 minutes.
