I'm not really sure how... - I'm not really sure how to review this trip. I have given it 5 stars as I believe it is a very important history lesson. I didn't really feel connected to what was being said and the walk around the camp, this could be because I have been to Auschwitz twice and found it much more engaging than this tour. The guide was very knowledgeable and really went off on his own, telling stories and snippets from his vast knowledge but I felt he got too emotionally involved. At times he forgot about the group and was off walking in front before everyone was off the bus or in his vaccinity before talking.

Terezin (Concentration) Camp and town - Terezin Camp wasn't always a German Prison Camp, first designed and built to defend the border against the Prussians but never needed in anger, it was converted to a prison for Czech Political Prisoners and then used for many many more prisoners including Jews under the control of the Germans in World War 2. Having visited many concentration camps I was surprised to find this was purely a prison but many many people lost their lives within its walls. The camp is a must see, if only to keep the memory of the past alive, and the surrounding town was also part of the camp with underground tunnels linking it over many many miles. Fascinating, Disturbing and yet Compelling to see and understand

Highly recommended for anyone interested in Holocaust history - This tour of Terezin was very well worth the one hour bus ride from Prague and was very thorough. It begins with a somber look inside the crematorium. The time spent at the Little Fortress, dating to the 1700s, was especially interesting, and included seeing the actual cellblock where the Gestapo housed political prisoners during the Holocaust and explanation by an on-site guide of the daily hardships of prisoners. A long walk through underground tunnels in the original fortress walls led to a shooting range and execution grounds. The movie explaining Terezin in English subtitles is worth watching and there is a restroom in this building. The town itself that was used as a regional ghetto prison for Jews before deportation to death camps has returned to civilian use except for a museum that emphasizes the plight of the Jewish children held there. This museum requires a lot of reading which might stretch the attention spans of kids and teens. Our tour also included a look at a secret synagogue space and attic housing used by Jewish prisoners. ..worth seeing. Over three hours of standing and walking. Some climbing of stairs and uneven cobblestones in the tunnel. The tour was run by Martin Tours from a small kiosk near the Powder Tower in the central Old Town tourist district. There is no time to eat on the tour, but inexpensive fast casual restaurants are available in the Palladium mall across the street from the tour kiosk.

Good - This was very good. Unfortunately we were not able to see the museum because of a city wide power outrage. Other than that this was good I’m sure the museum would have been wonderful.

Time to tighten up - I was here 30 years ago. Now my older children had to be told the terrible story. But it's hard to convey such a terrible story when the frames are so boring. Nothing has happened in the last 30 years. The dissemination of history must be tightened up if it is not to be forgotten. Look at what other museums do with interactive communication holograms, etc.

Didn't meet my expectations - I have been quite disappointed with the tour, what they offer for 45€ has not met my expectations. We could not stay long enough in the rooms, everything has gone fast to finish soon. The guide (according to them official), I have not liked, for these reasons: he confused dates, he did not know relevant historical facts, he did not have well geographically located the country, he lacked fluid and precise vocabulary and worse is that I think his speech did not have a coherent thread. I thought I was going to have a Spanish guide, and he's been Argentine. I had a hard time understanding him. I think he learned a speech by heart and let it go. To be a guide you have to read, read and study a lot of history. I don't recommend it. Yolanda
