10:00 hrs - Begin the tour to the Tequila Route. (by bus)

11:30 hrs - Enjoy a sightseeing tour at an artisan distillery with an explanation of the tequila production process (cooking, fermentation, and distillation).

12:00 - Experience a tasting of artisanal Tequila.

13:00 hrs - Explore the Magic Town of Tequila and enjoy free time for dining.

3:00 hrs - Tour the La Rojeña de José Cuervo distillery. (additional cost)

17:00 hrs - Return to downtown Guadalajara (Historical Center, Minerva, Expo Guadalajara)

1. C. Aurelio Aceves 225
Glorieta de La Minerva is one of Guadalajara, Jalisco’s most iconic symbols. Situated at a major city intersection, this majestic roundabout features an impressive sculpture of the Roman goddess Minerva, the protector of wisdom and war. The statue, standing 8 meters tall, is surrounded by fountains and gardens, creating a visually stunning environment. Opened in 1956, it serves as a key gathering spot for sporting and cultural celebrations. Inscriptions on its base honor Guadalajara’s bravery, making it a place that combines history, Tapatio pride, and architectural beauty.

2. Paisaje Agavero
The artisanal tequila factory on the Tequila Route is a place where the tradition and art of tequila production are preserved. Visitors can immerse themselves in the ancestral process that creates tequila, from the harvest of the blue agave to its transformation into the iconic Jalisco drink. The tour begins in the agave fields, showcasing the work of the jimadores, experts who skillfully select and cut agave pineapples. In the factory, traditional methods are highlighted: pineapples are slowly cooked in stone or brick ovens, releasing the natural sugars that give body to tequila. The must is then fermented in small wooden tubs and distilled in copper stills, ensuring a small batch production that emphasizes authentic flavors.

3. El Arenal
El Arenal, known as “The Agavero Landscape Gate,” is a picturesque village located in the heart of Jalisco, on the Tequila Route. Surrounded by blue agave fields, this place is a key point in the history and production of tequila. Its tranquil atmosphere and streets full of tradition invite visitors to enjoy the local culture. Among its main attractions are family distilleries, where artisan methods are preserved.

4. Amatitán
Authentic tequila chants are the iconic Route 43 chants, located on the road in a festive and traditional atmosphere. This popular destination offers a unique experience with its specialty: the little songs, prepared in clay jugs with tequila, fresh citrus juices, salt, and ice, topped with a touch of grapefruit soda. The place is distinguished by its vibrant Mexican decor and a relaxed setting that invites sharing with friends. It is the perfect place to taste tequila in its most refreshing and authentic form.

5. Campos de Agave Jose Cuervo
The Agavero Landscape of the Tequila Valley, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is a unique natural and cultural spectacle in the world. 7. Mural Pueblo Mágico De Tequila
The Tequila mural, located within the Municipal Presidency, is a masterful work that captures the historical, cultural, and productive essence of this Magical Town. Created by the artist José Manuel Martínez Valadez, the mural is a tribute to the legacy of tequila, the agavera tradition, and the people who bring it to life. The work highlights the production process of tequila, from the harvest of the agave to its distillation, framed by scenes of the daily and festive life of the region. It also celebrates the jimadores, guardians of this tradition, and the pre-Hispanic deities linked to the agave. Vibrant colors and meticulous details make this mural a symbol of identity and pride for Tequila.
