Alaverdi St. George Cathedral - Located 18 km from Telavi in the Alazani River valley, this cathedral dates back to the first half of the 11th century. The Alaverdi Monastery’s earliest structures are from the 6th century, and the current cathedral is part of an 11th-century Georgian Orthodox monastery. Alaverdi is the tallest cathedral in Georgia, reaching up to 50 meters.
Twins Wine Cellar - Founded by brothers Gia and Gela Gamtkitsulashvili in 2014, this unique museum of “Qvevri and Qvevri Wine” features an 8-meter-long pitcher statue and several halls detailing the process of making pitcher wine. The museum showcases a 15-year wine collection from “Twins’ winery,” archival photos, and information about Georgian grape species, pitchers, and winepresses. A highlight is the three 500-liter pitchers, cut to 1/3 size and covered with glass.
Batonis-Tsikhe Fortress - Known as ‘The Master’s Fortress,’ it was constructed by King Archil between 1667-1675. It served as the main residence for Kakhetian kings in the 17th-18th centuries. The castle includes two ancient churches, the ruins of a royal bath, and King Erekle II’s Persian-style palace. The architectural complex was built in two phases: Erekle II’s Palace, the eastern gate, and a royal bath were constructed in 1667-1675, while Erekle II’s church, a fence, and the western gate were added in the late 18th century. Historically, Batonis Tsikhe was not only a royal residence but also had significant military importance, with a protective fence during King Erekle’s reign.

Tsinandali Palace - Prince Alexander Chavchavadze, a pioneer of Georgian romanticism, transformed his inherited estate in Tsinandali into a cultural and intellectual hub, a status it maintains today. Opened in 1962 for the OIV World Congress, the 7.7-kilometer-long tunnel has stored and aged the finest Kakheti wines for decades. The tunnel maintains a natural temperature of 12-14°C with 70% humidity, ideal for wine preservation.
Sighnaghi - Known as the heart of Kiziqi, Sighnaghi is a picturesque town on the southeastern slopes of the Tsiv-Gombori range. Overlooking the Alazani Valley from 400 meters above, its name, derived from a Turkic word, means ‘shelter’ or, according to other sources, ‘invincible.’
