La Verdadera Tegusigalpa - Tegucigalpa is a melting pot of memorable spaces waiting to be discovered by tourists.
Many will have heard about the danger of walking alone, and even as in my case, that they told me not to go out alone.
The trick: go out alone to tour the old town, its churches, the basilica, the market. Enjoy the rainbow of flavors displayed by your street vendors. And when hunger strikes, be seduced by its exquisite cuisine.
Like any tourist spot: do not wear gold or eye-catching garments. Carry a crossed wallet or fanny pack. Never leave your belongings out of reach. If you use collectives don't tell strangers about your life or plans.
The must of every tourist in Tegus as the locals say is the Picacho a park that at its peak exhibits a beautiful and majestic Christ the Redeemer, and that in its environment highlights safety, there I felt so relaxed walking through its Gardens, watching the locals picnic and celebrate their most precious parties.
If you go, well not if you go. Visiting Tegus without Picacho is not visiting. When you go to the Picacho try to arrive around 4pm in winter so you can enjoy the park with daylight, its sunset and of course the beautiful views of Tegus from its viewpoints. This is the Instagrammable dream of any content creator or fan of sharing their memorable moments on the networks.
In my case I stayed in Honduras Maya, in what is a hotel district with many more options, but in that hotel the views are really good. Excellent service. On the ground floor there is a cafeteria that serves food to office employees where you eat good, rich and cheap. And even in that same environment there is a beauty salon that I loved. If you want to hold events your convention center is still very good.
Tegusigalpa (Tegus) is a lot, thanks to its wonderful people, exquisite gastronomy and historical - cultural wealth.
DO NOT LEAVE that city without scrutinizing its old town, without visiting its Picacho and understand that prudently the only danger is that you want to stay forever.

Good overview of downtown Tegucigalpa - Our guide Stephanie was the best part of the tour- she was both informed and warm. The MiN and the Garifuna cultural center were very interesting as well.
