Ananuri Fortress Complex - Just 15 minutes later, the next stop is Ananuri Castle, a popular tourist destination in Georgia. This fortress features a pair of churches and a 16th-century defensive tower. Situated on the shores of the Zhinvali Reservoir, known for its striking turquoise waters, the fortress was once the seat of the eristavis (dukes) of Aragvi. Visitors can enjoy breathtaking views of mountains, water, and the picturesque fortress.

Gudauri Ski Resort - The journey continues to Gudauri, a renowned ski resort in Georgia, located at an altitude of 2,200 meters above sea level. The highest lift station reaches 3,306 meters. The resort offers excellent skiing opportunities from December through April.
If the road to the Friendship Monument or Gergeti is closed due to snowfall, the tour will conclude in Gudauri, allowing more time to enjoy the area.
- Russian Georgian Friendship Monument - The Gudauri Friendship Monument, also known as the Gudauri Panorama or Treaty of Georgyevsk Monument, was built by the Soviet Union to commemorate 200 years since the Treaty of Georgievsk was signed in 1783.
This panorama features Soviet-style mosaics depicting Georgian and Russian heroes, farmers, fairy tales, and communist symbols. The monument is vibrant and colorful, with much of its beauty attributed to its location.
The Georgia-Russia Friendship Monument is a circular balcony extending over a 600-meter cliff, offering breathtaking views of the Caucasus Mountains. While not everyone dares to step to the edge, the memories are truly worthwhile!
- Gergeti Trinity Church - The final stop is Stepantsminda (Kazbegi), near Georgia’s northern border with Russia. Stepantsminda’s main attraction is Kazbegi Peak, also known as Mkinvartsveri, a favorite among mountain enthusiasts. From the mountain’s highest point, 5,054 meters up, the view is unforgettable.
In Kazbegi, visitors can explore the 14th-century Gergeti Trinity Church, located beneath the Kazbegi glacier. Its secluded position atop a steep mountain, surrounded by vast nature, has made it a symbol of Georgia.
