• 90311 Overseas Hwy - Upon reaching Tavernier Creek Kayak Tours, participants will receive essential safety instructions before embarking on their kayak adventure. Following the guide, they will paddle out of the canal towards the open sea.
• Kalteux Key - Exiting the canal, Kalteux Key and the Atlantic Ocean will be visible to the right (south). Here, the group will turn left to head north into Tavernier Creek.
• Tavernier Creek Bridge - As the group proceeds north into Tavernier Creek, they will pass under the Overseas Highway, venturing further into the creek. It’s important to stay alert, as the diverse and abundant wildlife of the Florida Keys may start to appear during this relaxed journey.
• Tavernier Creek - Soon, participants will be paddling through Tavernier Creek. The guide will lead them to a small opening in the dense mangrove forests that are characteristic of the Florida Keys. These secluded waterways are often inaccessible to motorized boats, allowing for a peaceful experience as paddlers approach exotic birds and vibrant green iguanas. The highlight of the tour will be reaching a breathtaking saltwater lagoon encircled by mangrove forests. Here, participants will have a few moments to enjoy the stunning scenery and might even spot a grazing manatee or two. After exploring the lagoon, the group will turn back for a leisurely return to the marina where the journey began.
