Adventure and challenge THE OVERLANDER - We hiked the overlander track from Cradle mountain to Lake St Claire at the end of January, self hike staying in Parks Tasmania huts at each camp sight. We dehydrated all our food and carried one tent between us, just incase we didn't get a bed. Very lucky with the weather no rain. Our packs were approximately 10kg and ended approximately 7kg, very comfortable. We transferred from Launceston, got our induction and started first thing the following day and doubled up the first two trail heads and slept 4 night's out and caught the ferry from Narssisis to Lake St Claire information centre. It was magical and highly recommend to do it yourself, without the expensive tour groups. Though I was very disappointed with some people treating the hut's like a backpacker's and leaving food there, that the rangers would have to discard. Please take in only what you think you'll eat, as you have to carry everything in and out of the beautiful national park.

Wonderful tour with local guide - The tour to Cradle Mountain was an excellent day out. There’s plenty to see along the way and David, our driver/guide, gave us so much local history as we drove along. The stop at Sheffield is a little short to get to see all the murals, but enough to want to go back one day. Fresh rolls, wraps and cake from the bakery were enjoyed at Dove Lake with time to walk a few kms to some nice lookouts. Very happy to see a few wombats at Weindorfers Forest, which is so peaceful, before our final stop at Ashgrove Dairy Door. Thanks for the memories, well worth doing a guided tour as it is quite a long drive.

Steve is the best guide ever! - The Cradle Mountain Tour was absolutely fantastic — we enjoyed every moment of it. Steve was a wonderful guide, striking the perfect balance between being funny, helpful, and informative. We especially loved looking at the wombats. The scenery was breathtaking, and the whole experience felt both relaxing and adventurous. We couldn’t have asked for a better day. Would recommend for everyone who wants to see the Cradle Mountain.

Cradle Mountain Magic with a Legendary Guide - We had an amazing day trip to Cradle Mountain! Aaron, our guide, made the bus ride fly by with his engaging storytelling—such a personable and friendly bloke. He really added to the whole experience and made it that much more enjoyable. Loved our stop in the charming town of Sheffield, and the walk around Dove Lake was stunning. Weindorfers Forest was absolutely magical—like stepping into another world. We wrapped up the day with a visit to Ashgrove Cheese Dairy Door, which was the perfect (and tasty!) way to finish the tour. Highly recommend this tour to anyone wanting to explore the area. Great itinerary, great guide, and unforgettable scenery.

Memorable - Amazing tour I've always wanted to go cradle mountain but didn't want to drive due to not knowing the route. Experience was memorable and amazing. Tour was well worth it

Enjoyable - Enjoyed the bus drivers commentary and passion, explaining lots of historical sites and local knowledge. The time on the mountain was adequate. The Enchanted Forrest walk was lovely and great for photos. Lunch was fresh and tasty.

Cradle Mountain - a day with the lot! - It was a full day and very well done. We saw so many sights and had so many experiences. From seeing native wildlife, the chalet Gustav and Kate built, walking around Dove Lake and walking up Glacier Rock, visiting Ashgrove cheese, seeing Sheffield with all the murals and the topiary town and having a filling lunch! Dale was a wonderful guide and very informative with a great sense of humour! We leant a lot and a great experience which was enjoyed by the whole family!

Cradle mountain - Great day out very informative & interesting but would have enjoyed more time at the cheese factory very rushed same for rangers but 15 to 20 mins including toilet break not enough time otherwise throughly enjoyed it
