A good overview of... - A good overview of Syracuse and Ortigia. I would have liked some more free time but realise this would have made for a later return time. Good stops for coffee in the morning and the lunch recommendation was excellent. Be prepared with some cash for entry tickets. All in all a very well organised trip.

We were very enthusiastic! - It's great! Read the reviews before me and can only shake my head. Punctuality is stress for the whole bus. If you have headphones on and don't want to listen, you don't have to be surprised later. Collecting the money for the tickets is an extra service of the guides to save time. Were lucky enough to be the only Germans and got a quasi private guided tour from Alfredo. His demonstration on the ear of Dionisius was an incredible acoustic experience, no audio guide will show you. The possibility to go to dinner for 12€, we gladly took advantage. This also had the advantage that it was very fast and we still had time to stroll afterwards. Thank you!

Absolutely excellent - Fantastic day out. All on schedule and a very interesting visit to the awesome Archaeological Park and Ortigia. Tour leader Renate and our guide Eva were absolutely excellent and very informative and brought it all to life. Thank you so much.

Syracussa day trip - Packed in a lot of culture for one trip. Certainly worth getting guide(s) for the day to focus in on what the area has to offer

Good trip but would have liked longer - Takes approximately 2 hours from Taormina to the archaeological park. The park was really interesting and the guide really knowledgeable but the tour felt rushed.
Ortigia is beautiful and again the guide was very knowledgeable. You get about 1 1/2 hours free time.
Really enjoyed the trip but would have liked a bit longer.

A Great Tour with a Great Guide - We had a great day tour with Giuseppe (Joseph) - the tour was fascinating and he was a great guide. Very lovely air conditioned coach and a good amount of free time in Ortigia - just be warned if going with a high weather forecast - it was 36 degrees and the heat was absolutely oppressive - drink LOTS of water and perhaps buy one of those street fans!!

3x languages took 3x as long - This tour would have been enjoyable if our tour guide wasnt repeating everything he said in 3 different languages the whole time. When we got to the archaeological site, he did a 15 minute monologue in Italian, and by the time he was done, all the non-Italian speakers had gotten fed up, broken off from the group and didn’t get to hear any information about the site. This was happening the whole day. It was very hot and he never stopped in the shade. The whole experience really just felt like transportation and not an actual tour. That being said, we really enjoyed ortigia. Kinda wish we had skipped the archaeological site, which was a bit pricey. Maybe we would have enjoyed it more if we got to hear information about it. They should have provided different guides for different languages or separated the tour into groups by language. We may have been better off just taking the train to ortigia ourselves.

SAT Tour - Bus arrived on time. Arrived at location but because of numbers were divided in two groups. Did not find either guide to be very informative and felt tour was too rushed. Lost our guide as she walked off without putting up her umbrella could not find her. Second guide was hopeless. Time alone in the town was fun we went off and did our own thing. You could easily do this tour cheaper on your own !!

arrogance and rudeness - I participated in the excursion to Syracuse departing from Taormina. I state that at the agency in Corso Umberto I was told that the return to Taormina would take place around 18.00/18.30. On the day of the excursion, however, the German-speaking guide, one Renate, who accompanied us throughout the trip by bus, informed us that to return to Taormina we would leave at 15:05. Another customer and I arrived at exactly 15:08 and one Renate, particularly upset about the very serious delay of three minutes, was quite arrogant, complaining about the serious lack. Nothing to say about Syracuse which is definitely a wonderful city to visit, but when doing this job you have to know how to relate in a friendly way with customers, it is not enough to provide information. The rudeness of this person was fortunately compensated by the affability of the Italian guide, present on site in Syracuse.
