A truly wonderful experience we won’t forget - We had the most wonderful time with chef Giovanni who led our group with pasta making and pizza dough making at the session. This activity was easily one of the highlights of our holiday in Sicily. We were warmly welcomed, had everything explained to us in English, and were looked after really well throughout the entire experience. For the amount we paid, our expectations had certainly been exceeded by the quality and attentiveness of the entire session from start to finish, and even the generous eating portions to finish, with delicious complimentary connollis! Thank you chef Giovanni for being such a warm and lovely person to work with, and to his team for accommodating for us while juggling your busy day to day restaurant duties. You made our first visit to Sicily and the beautiful town of Taormina really special.

Lots of fun and fabulous pizza! - My lovely wife organised this exciting and friendly experience with only some passing interest from me, but I’m so glad she did!
Arriving to a long table with heaped 00 and semolina flour, other participants and chef Mass … we took position and were straight into pasta making …
This sounded easy as pasta is usually quite easy to make, except in Sicily!! It’s a full Semolina and water dough, worked very hard and rolled onto skewers, or into balls then orecchiette … the process is laborious and difficult to get 100% correct. Unless you are an Italian chef on holidays form Germany (like the guy standing across the table from us).
The dish was a combined table dish and the consistency of the shapes going into the pasta bowl made for some interesting cooking for the kitchen.
On the other hand, and after a wine or 2, the pizza was a much more enjoyable experience. We were explained and then shown correct ingredients, shown how to form the base and add liquids correctly. After finishing the dough, it is taken away and a batch made 24 hours prior is brought out to make into pizza. You get to go into the kitchen and pick your toppings after you drown the base in passata. Be warned, less is more! Learn about Margarita and Napolitana before you venture into this well scrutinised assemble area.
This is fun. It’s all about the crust!
Eating the pizza with more wine and sharing the manufacturing and assembly with other would be pizza chefs is good fun. Only thing is they bring out the pasta after the pizza, this is on purpose as it’s just average (in my opinion) due to the inconsistency.
All in all this is great fun and an experience well worth the effort.
Younger girls get extra attention …. Just a warning 😊
Just go, it’s great fun and pizza is fabulous!

Such a fun alternative to shopping - We did it on a whim because we were tired of just walking around a town and shopping. It was a high light of the trip. The instructor is fun and the food was fantastic. We even were able to get up here from a cruise docked in Messina
