This cooking class was a great... - <p>This cooking class was a great addition to our Sicilian vacation. We learned about how to prepare many types of food and actually got to make a pizza and bake it in the wood fire oven. Also learned how to make home made macaroni. Both chefs we worked with were great and quite patient in teaching us techniques. I would highly suggest this cooking class in Taormina. We received an apron to wear during the cooking class and also got a nice completion certificate at the end of class. The wine was fabulous as well.</p>

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed... - <p>My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed the time we spent in our cooking class. Taormina is a very beautiful city. The restaurant that held the cooking class was very professional. I'm really happy with this and glad we experienced it. The trick is that the restaurant is busy. Our class started at 10:30 a.m. We met at 10 and they gave us breakfast and chatted with us about the plan of the day. We had requested no fish, and they completely accommodated us. We got a nice lesson and practice with bread and pizza dough and maccheroni which was super nice to learn. Then we observed other dishes being prepared in the kitchen. We were able to help on those dishes a little bit. The restaurant had big groups of people coming for lunch. It was amazing that they were able to fit us in for a lesson. And we ate until there was no tomorrrow! The only thing that would make this experience better would be a slower pace. I completely understand why they needed to fit us in, but I would have gotten more out of this experience if the lesson were longer. I would absolutely do this again but would just expect to learn one or two dishes at a time -- not the entire meal. Oh my goodness -- everything was so good! I can't wait to make some of the dishes here at home. They emailed all the recipes to us.</p>

Chef Guide NEVER Showed. Operator Failed to Rectify. - I booked this course for 5 people (through Travelocity, not TripAdvisor - but the local operator was the same; Curioseety Sicily; so it is the same course). I booked 11 days in advance and it was confirmed. We showed up at the appointed time and place, and the chef never showed up. We were finally able to contact the operator by email (they did not answer the phone), and got the response "Sorry but we completely forgot about this Booking. I can check for tomorrow or refund you now I am really sorry but we have some issue with the manager of the bookings." I told them that we were not available on an alternate day and that we had driven here for this course and that they should figure out how to arrange a course today. Some time later I got the message "Sorry Paul i have to cancel and refund you then. I m really sorry i did not see the Booking. And the chef today Is not in town." Needless to say, getting the money back was hardly the point. We were looking forward to the class, and now we would completely miss out. We also wasted a day of our vacation driving to the class location. I was especially sad for our friends who we had invited. BEWARE THIS OPERATOR - CURIOSEETY SICILY, and also Travelocity who confirmed the tickets without actually assuring that the operator followed through, and when I contacted Travelocity about the problem they never responded.
