Into the Heart of Tanzania: A Journey Begins

The promise of a 5-day safari through Tarangire, Serengeti, and Ngorongoro was a siren call I couldn’t ignore. The night before our adventure, my fellow travelers and I gathered at the Arusha Tourist Inn, a modest yet welcoming establishment. Despite its reputation for being a bit noisy, the inn provided a comfortable start to our journey. The spaghetti dishes served in the inn’s kitchen were surprisingly delightful, offering a hearty meal before our early morning departure.

Our guide, Samwel, and chef, Saleem, were the heart and soul of our safari. Their expertise and warmth set the tone for the days ahead. As we packed our essentials into the safari truck, leaving behind any non-essentials in the care of Geofrey, the inn’s owner, we were filled with anticipation. The journey to Tarangire National Park was a scenic drive, and as we entered the park, the landscape unfolded like a living tapestry of Africa’s diverse wildlife.
