In the morning, you’ll be picked from Arusha/Moshi for a comfortable drive to Tarangire National Park with picnic lunches at hand. The park is situated alongside the Tarangire River and is primarily characterized by the low-lying hills on the Great Rift Valley’s base. Its natural environment is dominated by Acacia forests and immense African Baobab trees, along with extensive swamp regions in the south. Tarangire is renowned for its exceptional birdlife, as it lies directly on a migration path between southern Africa and Europe, attracting birds from both hemispheres. The park is especially populated with leopards and giraffes. But the main attraction is the large groups of elephants that gather in the park during the dry season to exploit the Tarangire River’s vital water supply. The area is ideal for herbivores, increasing your chances of spotting Giraffes, Impalas, Dik diks and more. We return to Moshi/Arusha in the late afternoon.
