Safari perfection - If you are researching a safari company- I recommend you stop here and book Safari Soles as soon as possible. Though I had been on safari several times previously, this was my first time traveling with my young family. I did a tremendous amount of research before coming back with my husband and two sons (6, 9) and this trip far exceeded our expectations. I first wanted to ensure we were using and supporting a local company (Safari Soles is exclusively owned and run by Tanzanians), and then scoured reviews. I cannot imagine there is a better choice out there than Safari Soles.
From the very beginning, Happiness, who organized our safari, was incredibly responsive, answered the 100s of questions I asked, and offered lots of expertise and advice when I suggested possibilities that she knew would not lead to the best experience. She was honest, prompt, patient and very knowledgeable. She was also able to help connect us with a local charity to support.
Then there was Chief, who picked us up and spent a day guiding us in Arusha. He was so wonderfully kind and helpful. He made my children laugh, made us feel safe when driving around. He guided us through Shanga, then suggested some local shops when trying to find football jerseys and he also suggested and then took us around a local market which was an unforgettable experience and showed us an authentic taste of Tanzania. I could not recommend him more highly and suggest you ask for him if you are looking to spend some time in Arusha.
The most incredible part of our trip however, was the opportunity to meet, learn from, and be guided by Simon “The Safari Monster.” By the end of the week he felt like a part of our family. His kindness, warmth, incredible knowledge and ability to answer every single question we had, his patience with our children and his ability to track and find animals for the most perfect up close experiences was beyond what we ever could have imagined. If you want a once in a lifetime safari filled with memories you will never forget, I would recommend you ask for Simon (and rearrange your dates if he isn’t available!).
He taught us Swahili, he taught us about Tanzanian life and culture, he shared his family with us. He has a profound respect for nature and the animals he has dedicated his life to studying. He was able to help redirect and engage our kids if they got upset, he made them feel comfortable and confident. He cares so deeply about his clients and ensuring they have the best possible experience and he loves his country and his profession so much you leave feeling like you experienced far more than safari. You get a true sense of what a welcoming, spectacular country Tanzania is. Safari Soles, and especially Simon, gave us a week of memories that we will cherish for a lifetime. It’s also worth noting that Simon is an incredible photographer and took stunning photos that he shared (including some wonderful shots of our family!) which allowed us to just enjoy the experience without worrying about taking pictures.
We will never forget the awe on our son’s faces, or the number of times they said “this is incredible.” They rated this trip a one million out of ten and we couldn’t agree more. Asante sana Safari Soles, Happiness, Chief and Simon.

Magic - I had an exceptional time on this safari with my father and sister. But this experience would not have been the same without the help of our guide Jonathan, who was great from A to Z taking the time to research and explain Tanzania’s culture but also its wildlife. Another big thank you to him I recommend it 100%.

5D/4N fly-in, fly-out safari - My family’s guide was named Innocent. He was incredible. He lets you decide exactly how much time you want to spend viewing each animal or group of animals. His knowledge of the animals, landscape, and culture was apparent. He also has a very laid back personality that anybody can enjoy. I couldn’t recommend Innocent enough!

Incredible safari with Simon (aka 'The Safari Monster') with memories that will last a lifetime! - My husband and I have recently returned home from an incredible 7 day fly in safari with Safari Soles Tours. When we booked our trip..the enquiry and booking process was easy and informative thanks to Raphael’s help.
We arrived early morning in Kilimanjaro after a long overnight flight and spent our first day/evening relaxing at the tranquil Arusha Farmhouse (superb food!) Our safari adventure began with an internal flight early the next morning from Arusha to the Northern Serengeti…where we were warmly greeted by Simon (aka ‘The Safari Monster’) who was to be our guide for the next six days. We cannot recommend Simon highly enough…he was just the best! Simon was incredibly knowledgeable of the landscape and all of its wildlife. Simon had an infectious excitement and passion for all of the wildlife and continuously passed on his knowledge of wildlife sightings onto the other guides via the radio network. Brilliant teamwork!
We really enjoy photography and Simon’s knowledge and meticulous eye for spotting such a huge array of stunning wildlife; enabled us to take some truly wonderful pictures. Simon strived during the whole of our trip to ensure we were comfortable and happy at all times and we feel like we have learnt so much from him…not only about Tanzania’s wildlife (down to the small detail) but also about the countries culture and its people.
Our trip took us through the Northern and Central Serengeti, onto the stunning Ngorongoro Crater, Lake Manyara and Tarengire National Park. On our second day, we took to the skies for a sunrise balloon flight over the River Mara (also organised by Safari Soles Tours) which we would highly recommend. A glass of sparkling wine and outdoor buffet breakfast followed which was a nice touch.
We feel so fortunate to have seen hundreds of wildebeest migrate across the river.
We saw close up a trio of cheetahs, prides of lions with their young cubs, a truly unforgettable experience of seeing female leopards playing with their young cub, families of elephants, giraffe and baboons strolling across the road right in front of our vehicle, jackals, wart hogs, a spectacular close up view of three male lion brothers relaxing together in the shade, hyenas, many zebra, buffalo, gazelles, topis, impalas, dik-diks, hippopotamus, antelopes, beautiful birds and to top ‘The Big Five’ off a female black rhino with her baby! All of this would not have been possible without our amazing guide Simon... we have so many incredible photos thanks to him!
All of the camps we stayed in were very comfortable with delicious food. If you are able…please do tip all the camp staff, drivers and guides generously ….they all work so incredibly hard to make your trip as enjoyable as possible.
We didn’t want our safari to end and have made a great friend in Simon our guide. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for making our safari a trip of a lifetime!!! It’s so true what is said…Africa changes you forever like no other place!
If you’re contemplating taking a safari…just do it. Book with Safari Soles Tours…you won’t be disappointed!

Everything perfect in the Safari - It has been really amazing to do this safari with this company. attentive from start to finish.
We visited the parks of Serengeti and Ngorongoro with an unbeatable Guide, Dickson. Thanks to you we have been able to see practically all the animals, with a great deal.
Flights, accommodation and food arrangements have been very good.
We also had a problem with the bags that we missed on the flight from Spain have been pending at all times to recover them, while we have been on Safari.
Highly recommended.

Our Unforgettable Safari Adventure - Our safari in Tanzania was absolutely unforgettable, and a big part of that was thanks to our amazing guide, Estomih. He made our 5-day adventure not just a trip but a real journey into the heart of the wild.
The safari itself was a dream come true. We got to see the Big 5 on our very first day! The landscapes were breathtaking. We saw from the dramatic wildebeest river crossing to quiet moments watching zebras and learning how they smartly let wildebeests take the lead to avoid predators.
During the safari, we’re able to find different spots for photos and our guide shared fun facts that made every animal encounter special. He was super friendly and funny, making every moment enjoyable. Even when we ran into a small tire issue, Estomih handled it like a pro, and we were back on our adventure in no time.
For us, the safari was not only an adventure of seeing animals but also about connecting with the land and its stories. We are also able to know the local culture too, making our trip not just a safari but a deep dive into Tanzania’s heart. We couldn’t have asked for a better adventure!

A special safari tour - We did a 4 day Serengeti from the air tour with Safari Soles. We had the 4x4 to ourselves.
We were well looked after by our guide and driver Raymond. He was knowledgeable, drove well, spoke well and had a good sense of humour.
The 4x4 was clean and comfortable. Important when you are spending 4 days in it.
All the logistics, flights, transfers and accommodation worked seamlessly.
All the accommodation was clean and well looked after. It's important to note that in Serengeti you shouldn't luxury westernised hotels. Lodges and camps are exactly that. The staff are unfailingly polite and helpful.
The food is freshly prepared but simple. Don't expect loads of options.
We stayed at Serengeti Lodge, Sero tented camp and Rhino Lodge. Great and different experiences.
We were lucky to see the big 5. You need luck but it helps if your guide is knowledgeable as ours was. The serengeti is vast, the ngonrongoro crater is amazing.
We had a great time.
