The journey to Nyerere National Park, previously known as Selous Game Reserve, takes approximately 4–5 hours. Upon arrival, enjoy a game drive en route to the accommodation within the park. Wildlife sightings may include elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, zebras, impalas, and various antelope species. After lunch and some relaxation, embark on an afternoon boat safari on the Rufiji River, where hippos, crocodiles, and diverse birdlife can be observed along the riverbanks. Later, return to the camp for dinner and an overnight stay.

This newly established park is part of the area previously known as the Selous Game Reserve. Established in 2019, it spans over 30,000 square kilometers, making it the largest national park in Africa. The park is home to Tanzania’s largest elephant population and numerous lions, leopards, African hunting dogs, buffaloes, and hippos. Visitors can also frequently spot bushbucks, red and blue duikers, elands, hartebeests, hyenas, giraffes, oryx, reedbucks, impalas, waterbucks, and zebras.
The park offers a wide array of safari activities, including romantic boat safaris along the Great Rufiji River, legendary fly camping trips, walking safaris, and classic game drives in areas teeming with wildlife.
