Will have a 1 hour transfer to Karume International Airport, we will reach one hour before departure in the morning and depart at 07:15 AM to Mikumi, we reach at 08:15 AM at Mikumi Airstrip. We will off-board the Airplane and onboard the 4X4 Jeep and start our Mikumi Safari Adventure game drive from 08:30 Am in the morning to 03:30 PM or 04:30 PM evening time. Our guests will experience the wildlife nature of Mikumi National Park. They will see wild animals like lion, elephant, zebra, giraffe, antelope, buffalo, crocodile, hippopotamus, baboon, a wide variety of birds. Also not to forget we will see different tree species at the Mikumi National Park. Then we go back to Mikumi Airstrip and depart by 03:30 / 04:30 back to Zanzibar. We then reach Karume International Airport at 05:30. After arrival and pass through Airport inspection we take a car transfer and reach hotel 07:00 PM.

🌍✨ An experience... - 🌍✨ An absolutely unforgettable experience! The safari was simply incredible: breathtaking scenery, majestic wildlife observed in its natural habitat, and magical moments that I will never forget. Amazing safari day trip - The safari was great, everything was very well organised and all the staff were helpfull and accommodating. We saw so many different animals and the guide gave a lot of information. Lunch was good, after lunch there was time for a bit more Safari before going back in the plane. Overall we had an amazing day!

Perfect Day at Mikumi - Our honeymoon day trip to Mikumi was perfect. Every part of the trip was stress-free and enjoyable. Barnaba made the hotel transfers and flights seamless. Our guide on the safari made sure we saw every animal that we wanted to see, he even made sure to track down animals that could be seen very close to the vehicle paths. I would highly recommend booking to anyone considering a trip to Mikumi with Captain Barnaba!

Better than a zoo! - The guide Eric was very cool. He did his job showing and guiding through the Safari with a lot of passion, and he is a really good driver who drives safely and precisely.
The only thing we were worried about was, that sometimes it looked like we are disturbing the privacy of the animals. The good thing was, that the guides cared about that too and moved on as quick as possible.

FIRST EXPERIENCE OF A SAFARI - Taking advantage of a stay in STONTOWN in Zanzibar for volunteering, we decided, before leaving Italy, to book with Viator from TRIPADVISOR a day of safari in the MIKUMI park in Tanzania. Perfect organization, they picked us up at the hotel at dawn, took us to the airport and helped us board. After about an hour of flight we landed in the park where near the runway jeeps were waiting for us. Very good Driver / Guide, in the morning safari we saw everything and rare / lucky a lioness that mauled a zebra. Very crude scenes, but it's nature, the food chain, it's Africa. At noon stop for meal and immediately after another safari round. We saw 4 of the big five, elephants, lions, buffaloes, hippos, all that was missing were the rhinos that Mikumi Park doesn't have. In the late afternoon another return flight of about an hour then taxi to the hotel where we arrived in the evening. All arranged very well. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Mikumi National Park - Mikumi National Park
A beautiful place and definitely worth visiting. My trip cost $300 USD and included meals, transportation by car from Dar es Salaam to Mikumi, a visit to a Maasai village, one-night hotel accommodation, entrance tickets to Mikumi National Park, lunch inside the park, and a safari vehicle with a pop-up roof for a better experience. After the safari, we returned to Morogoro by car (2 hours), then took a train from Morogoro to Dar es Salaam.
Things to Avoid
Do not travel by car from Dar es Salaam to Mikumi — the road is exhausting, dangerous, and takes about 7 hours. Instead, take the train, which is much more comfortable, or book a direct flight from Zanzibar to Mikumi National Park.
The park is beautiful, but not all animals are present. For a richer safari experience and better weather, I recommend visiting Arusha, where you can see a wider variety of wildlife.
Also, bring some snacks with you — you’ll spend long hours inside the park, and food options are limited during the drive.

A safari without elephant or lion is not a safari! - For a day safari from Zanzibar, this national park is definitely a good option. Of course, you can’t compare it to a multi-day safari, but it’s definitely worth it. We were picked up at the hotel at 5:30am and taken straight to the airport. After about 50 minutes flight time you land directly in the national park, get in the jeep and off you go. We have seen buffaloes, zebras, giraffes, antelopes, springboks, hippos, crocodiles, elephants, lions and some other animals. Lunch was served at a camp and the flight back took off around 4pm. For us it was a great day and for safari beginners this excursion is ideal. You can book the tour safely with local providers, where you can negotiate the price and you can also book it privately and without other guests. This is even more pleasant in the Jeep.

Average - The safari guides are so friendly, food is average, didn't see many animals up close the ride was boring to be honest , people suggested ngorongoro and Serengeti
